I do love that convenient and yet functional points you presented Obs. Man is the world and woman is the life, or both? What an original idea Obs, the fact that man is the builder and the woman as the object to fulfill for what he builds. Great Obs. I love that. Where man is out there to provide and woman is there to receive all that was built for her.
Obs, somewhere in the labyrinth of your mangled thoughts, I always find your meaning hidden amidst confusing words. But first, why would it always end up between what is for man and what is for a woman?
Anyways, yes, life, as we know purposeless or not is still a life. But on the grandeur that was Rome and on the beauty that was Greece. What a wonderful life to all of us.
From the pains of the poor to the well indulged capriciousness of the rich. What a life.
Tom, I am writing my book about my purpose in life, and it is a question that ponders everything withing and beyond our realm to answer that.
It brings me to thinking that this is not just all there is to in, I mean in our existence right now.
Otherwise, what a waste of space to have all those magical truth out there. Magical to me, because I haven't yet the capability to put things in order as conceived, but in another life, I might.
Not only that Bod, we do need to commit ourselves to make our understanding better, sharpen our minds and learn. What is given to us are all tools to make what truth is out there known. John Locke is a famous educator who said, we are all born with empty minds, yet it is capable to absorb any knowledge based on our environment. We can use that to learn and adapt so we can change. Priceless is our ability to make change. We can.
So stay as you are, and we remain the same. Our dynamics are good. If we were all created the same then it would be robotic and by golly, I wouldn't want to live in that world..
Tru you are who you are, whether people put you in a pedestal or not. But for me personally, what a boring place we are in, had you been any different.
The relativity of truth is not determined solely by one's ability to think. In my understanding, we humans are all endowed with different capabilities, and we can compare ourselves to others. Yet truth of life may only be relative to how we can think, however, truth of the science and universe, are constant and doesn't necessarily reflect based on our incapable or lack of grasping as others would.
Bod, I know it is our limited way of rationalizing what is out there. We are bound based on our limits or unlimited understanding. However, in a real scientific way, just because I can't think, doesn't mean it doesn't exist right?
Imagine the varied levels of our minds, for instance, Aristotle as well as Isaac Newton, just because my mind can't comprehend those abilities don't mean they don't exist.
So there is constant and truth of those that even within the limits of my individual perception doesn't secure that certainty.
Whether my mind knows or not, there are millions of galaxies out there, because others can perceive and analyze.
Awesome Bod. But life is so full of ups and downs. It is a dynamic of good and bad, of dark and light, yet it is very difficult to choose between the two. That defines our imperfections as human beings.
I do tend to think though, that in a perfect world, imagine how boring it is?
Track I love music so much, it is a very lonely world without it.
But here is Ralph's:
Ralph Waldo Emerson went a little further and said: "The purpose in life is not to be happy, it is to be useful, honorable, compassionate. To have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."
Can be Bod, there is enough evidence that it is in fact, a very large entity. Our earth is just a tiny speck on one of the millions of galaxies out there. Imagine the possibilities. And yes without the mind, none of these can be understood. It exists, with or without our minds, but it is impossible to know without it. Possibilities, I mean.
I differ Pedro, when I die, at least my personal belief is that, it is not the end. We may physically decay in our bodies, as we know, but our spirit goes further on, both the mind and the spirit together.
Have you read, Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss? It is very interesting. It will take you to the realms of what is out there.
Yes it is to me Pedro. It is endless in its function and capability. When I dream? And I always do, it is amazing how those ideas seemed to be real yet only in my dreams but of course it is a window as to what the mind can do. Possibilities, endless.
I was reading a poem about death (sudden) and it brought me this kind of thinking.
I didn't ask to be born, and certainly know that I would not know when I die, but in between birth and death I know, there are some things I should and shouldn't do. Deeper in my line of thoughts are the questions that brings me to evaluate my life.
I don't have any regrets but I am positive I can do better, and that is why, I want to understand, why all these cruelties in life, why our world is full of negative energy and yet life is so short and precious? I am sure most of us ask this question, or am I the only one?
As I am embarking on the last chapter of my life, having dodged and survived two cancers and now declared very healthy and will live long, at least from my doctors and specialists, I can't help but ask myself deeper, "what truly am I here for?"
As a mother, I have raised four lovely children who all love me so much and seeing them raise their own children much the same way as I taught them, as my mother taught me, I am so grateful and thankful that I have to share this thoughts for anyone who is interested.
When we reach a certain point in life and know that anytime any moment, we are gone, it makes me think, what truly is our purpose in life? After reading so many books and learned so much in life, there are two great men that influenced me and with whom I learned so much that all my living principles are all evident of these virtues. I would love to share them with anyone, who is interested to know.
John F. Kennedy, said: "We must contribute in some way, to make things better."
Ralph Waldo Emerson went a little further and said: "The purpose in life is not to be happy, it is to be useful, honorable, compassionate. To have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."
Thank you all for reading and I hope that you would share with me, what is your purpose in life. Your comments and or contributions are all appreciated.
Thank you.
Note: I am aware, this is an international site with all peoples of different beliefs, as well as none, different values, cultures and I do hope that we can all share our opinions on this one without causing any grief to anyone. Your thought on this question and share it with me and for all to read is highly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Hoe we all have a joyful, fruitful and peaceful New Year ahead of us.
Oh no I didn't mean to make you feel like that at all Track, my apologies if I made you feel that way. But I am going back to the thumbs up and my bad. Of course not Track. You know I will never think of you that way and neither is Pedro.
Why he even think of that is beyond me.
Take care Track. Peace, okay? I do hope we all have a good New Year.
