Hi Monte We had our own brand in Sweden during the same period.
Husqvarna, which looks very similar to Singer.
I bet the both worked well. It might be difficult finding parts to them now.

Believe it or not ABC, that sewing machine looks like the SINGER machine that I had and the table with the treadle pedal. In later years the pedal was converted to be used with electricity. It was my mother's machine that I inherited. I made a lot of clothes for myself and my baby daughter on that sewing machine. A magnificent sewing machine.

@ Wavebox - When I used to do a lot of photography with my SLR camera I used Fuji 50 ASA colour slide film to get this kind of depth of colour. Had to be kept in the fridge till the last half hour prior to use and put back in the fridge after exposure.... a lot of messing about but great results..... It's a shame this shot wasn't used with a polorised lens to darken the sky and brighten the buildings....
