D.Trump might be running for President...

WASHINGTON -- Real estate mogul Donald Trump says he's thinking about running for president, saying "everybody's ripping off the United States."

Trump tells ABC's George Stephanopoulus in an interview he doesn't actually want to run, but says he's worried about the country's future and thinks he could be the person to stand up to America's rivals. He singled out China for criticism in the interview, accusing Beijing of manipulating its currency to gain unfair advantage of the United States in global trade competition.

He has shown interest in the past in running for president, in both 1988 and 2000. But in the interview, Trump said, "I am thinking about things." He said he expects to decide by June and said he'd likely run as a Republican if he enters the race.

London Economics School Official Quits in Qaddafi Scandal

LONDON — Sir Howard Davies, the director of the London School of Economics, has resigned over damage to the school’s reputation caused by links between the prestigious university and the regime of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi.

The university also announced late Thursday that an independent inquiry, led by Harry Woolf, the former Lord chief justice of England and Wales, would examine the university’s relationship with Libya and the Libyan leader’s son, Seif al-Islam el-Qaddafi, a London School of Economics graduate.

In his letter of resignation, Sir Howard said he had concluded that it would “be right for me to step down, even though I know that this will cause difficulty for the institution I have come to love.” He added, “The short point is that I am responsible for the school’s reputation, and that has suffered.”

On Tuesday, the school announced it would divert a donation of $488,000 it had received from the Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation to establish a scholarship fund for North African students. At the time, Sir Howard said, “We took a risk on that, and I think it’s right to say that that risk has backfired on us.” He said he felt “embarrassed.”

“I’m not ashamed of what we’ve done with the money but I do think it’s clear that the source of it now is not one we wish to be associated with, he said.

Sir Howard offered his resignation to the school’s governing council on Tuesday night but was asked to stay on. In an interview with the BBC on Friday morning he said that he remained uneasy about his decision to accept the donation from the Qaddafi foundation and also about having himself agreed to act as a financial consultant to the Libyan government. In 2007 the university received a payment of $50,000 after Sir Howard gave advice to the country’s sovereign wealth fund.

“The more I thought about it, there were these two things which I found hard to defend,” he said.

The controversy began on Feb. 21, when Seif Qaddafi made a televised speech warning protesters that his father’s supporters would fight “to the last bullet” and that “rivers of blood” would flow in the country. Students then occupied the faculty dining room and Sir Howard’s office.

More recently the controversy widened to include accusations that portions of Seif Qaddafi’s 2007 doctoral dissertation may have been plagiarized or ghost-written.

On Thursday, the consulting firm Monitor Group, based in Cambridge, Mass., acknowledged in a statement that part of the work for which it had been paid a fee of $250,000 a month by the Libyan government included helping Seif Qaddafi with his doctoral dissertation.

Lord Woolf’s inquiry is expected to look into the integrity of Mr. Qaddafi’s dissertation as well as the university’s financial relationship with the Libyan government, which in addition to the donation and the fee paid for Sir Howard’s advice includes a £2.2 million contract between L.S.E. Enterprise and Libya’s Economic Development Board to train Libyan civil servants and professionals.

The truth about smoking

I’ve been smoking for about 20 years on and off and I always cultivated the ability to quit and restart. I know it is a dangerous game, but danger sometimes is fun, a source of knowledge and a stimulus to learn new things.
The fact is I did love savouring a nice cigarette sometimes with a cold beer or while sipping my fave whisky, but at the same time I did not like being smoke dependant with all related disastrous side effects and habits.

So after years of battling and researching I found out a few important things.
We all know that nicotine does not last long in our body in reality, what creates dependence is our low psychology and our poor understanding of the whole process . And some old myths and preconceptions hereby I would like to destroy.

Quitting smoking is easier than learning to play piano or solving Math problems, but you don’t become proficient overnight. Yet if you put enough studying and exercise in it, every body can become fairly good at and will eventually be able to master the process instead of becoming slave and addicted to it.
On the contrary to what common knowledge is, it s not only will power and don’t have to get fat, but like for a recipe, if you follow the instructions you get the right thing,if you don’t , you get something else.
In terms of time and energy you have to be prepared to it is similar to a driving license test .So basically something anybody can do.

So you might argue, if this knowledge is available why people do not use it when they want to quit ?
Because they don’t know it is reasonably easy and still believe in old myths like quitting is nearly impossible.
Tabacco manufacturing companies did a great jobs, first convinced you that smoking was cool and then that giving it up was so hard. If this is not a brainwashing masterpiece, what is ?

Work smarter not only harder!

A good partner portrait

The other day I was discussing with a few friends about the characteristics of a lifetime partner.
One of them came up with this slogan
'They must be cool enough to have the guts to be heart driven'

No bad,we replied but what exactly do you mean by that ?

well he said, for me a lifetime partner must :

-be sporty, physically fit, with a passion for healthy lifestyle,

-have chosen a positive attitude( during the downs of life, on the ups everybody does )

-be driven by traditional values (not when is easy ,but when is hard )

-be psychologically balanced

-not be looking for financial rewards as part of the package (if they desire to be regarded as a partner and not as an employee)

-be humble but (extremely) confident ,

-be emotionally and socially intelligent (as defined by Goleman)

-be a skilful and tactful communicator most of the times (some flaws are allowed)

Besides they would be wanting to understand before asking to be understood,

they would know in depth their responsibilites, other than their rights,

they would know the power of laughter and would use it lavishly,

they would be dedicated to growth ,emotional and psychological,

more than status symbols and material stuff.

Ps.no cleaning or cooking is required if in possession of the above features.

Well,I said,I guess you are 'slightly' too demanding , my

dear,a partner of this kind exists only in fairy tales ....
