Thanks!

I haven't been on here for a while, and have missed all of you who have been so nice to me (you know who you are). You lifted me with your humor and kind words, on days when I needed to be lifted. I will be forever grateful to you for that.
Some changes have come about in my life, just in the past few weeks (no, not a boyfriend), and I believe now, I need to try to live more in the world that is real to me. I plan to finish my studies, camp more, fish more, hike more, spend more time with my children, and spend sometime just enjoying what I have.
I wish all of you, my friends, the very best that life has to offer, and please know, I'll always remember the kindness you have shown me.
Love,
Catherine

As in a soul rememb'ring my good friends."

Happy Birthday!

Martin Luther King JR.

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

The Nicest Gift of All

For Christmas I got the nicest gift ever. My oldest daughter told me(a few days before Christmas actually) that I'm going to be a grandmother. We're all very excited, to say the least, but in my own mind, I'm having a hard time thinking of being called a grandma. I'm wondering what some of you call your grandmothers in your country.

Photographs and Memories

So, today I drug out the photo box to put together little albums for each of my three children. I will give each of them one for Christmas. I didn't mean to spend so long doing this, but I just got so absorbed. I found not only photos, but also cards they had made for me with misspelled words, and drawings of hearts, and little stick people to represent our family. I cried looking at these things. The photos of them as babies, and how much they have changed, how my parents have aged, and how different I look as well. When I finally realized what time it was, I had been at this project for three hours. It makes me sad that the time was so fleeting, and the only reminder is a box of photos and the memories.

For the Birds

I don't know how many of you enjoy watching birds, But I could sit for hours watching them. This summer, at a yard sale, I purchased for .50, a window feeder. It has the suction cups that you stick right to the window. I fill it up about three times a week with sunflower seeds, sit back, and watch all the little birds. I've had Tit Mice, Chickadees, Finches, Wrens, Sparrows, Cardinals, and Blue Jays. I'm amazed at how much these small birds can eat, and the skill they have to get those little seeds out of the shell. I hope all of you reading this blog will invest in a feeder and some seeds. The reward you get back is well worth it.
