Photographs and Memories

So, today I drug out the photo box to put together little albums for each of my three children. I will give each of them one for Christmas. I didn't mean to spend so long doing this, but I just got so absorbed. I found not only photos, but also cards they had made for me with misspelled words, and drawings of hearts, and little stick people to represent our family. I cried looking at these things. The photos of them as babies, and how much they have changed, how my parents have aged, and how different I look as well. When I finally realized what time it was, I had been at this project for three hours. It makes me sad that the time was so fleeting, and the only reminder is a box of photos and the memories.

Time does seem to evaporate into yesteryear.
Spend it as best you can. peace

Thank you, Jim. Great song BTW!
Its nice thing to do for your chrismats time. I'm sure it would be great moment.
Sometimes I cried when I saw old albums and see the pictures when the part of my family were still here. It's always great moment to remember them and finally realize now they are no longer here.

I hope you have wonderful time for christmast!teddybear
What a lovely gift for your children, one that they will treasure and be able to pass on to their own children. Yes time is fleeting but isn't life about creating new, wonderful memories together as family and friends. Have a good Christmas Millay.hug
oh Millay, for all your sadness, of yesterdays, how lucky you are, i wish to have babies, and cry over them too, one day, you have been able to do this, i may never, who knows, life is fleeting.comfort
Milay, I agree that home/handmade gifts are more special than store bought gifts. Those expensive things often break or loose interest. But gifts from the heart last eternally. My daughter is almost 4 just started school and I treasure every lil thing she brings home. I record her voice singing silly songs to some day remind her of the innocent touching memories we share.

Living in hope, I believe your time will come soon and you'll also have those memories to share with your children.
Thank you all for your nice comments. I didn't mean to make anyone feel down. The holidays do this to me every year. teddybear

I like homemade gifts too. We have cookie baking at my house, then share with all the neighbors. That's a wonderful idea, taping your little girls voice.
Millay - I'm sure you have three beautiful children which make you proud every day so don't feel sad but think of the joy you will have with them growing up wave
Great story.
