For the Birds

I don't know how many of you enjoy watching birds, But I could sit for hours watching them. This summer, at a yard sale, I purchased for .50, a window feeder. It has the suction cups that you stick right to the window. I fill it up about three times a week with sunflower seeds, sit back, and watch all the little birds. I've had Tit Mice, Chickadees, Finches, Wrens, Sparrows, Cardinals, and Blue Jays. I'm amazed at how much these small birds can eat, and the skill they have to get those little seeds out of the shell. I hope all of you reading this blog will invest in a feeder and some seeds. The reward you get back is well worth it.

Hi Millay,

In Dublin we get migrating "Brent Goose" from the Northern Island's of Canada each winter. After their breeding season they head for the east coast shores of Ireland, the same spot every year. I always find them to be fascinating to watch - they never take their head out of the rich green grass each day & every morning you will find them feeding on the sea world shore where I live. In the past couple of years there numbers have trebled. Beautiful creatures like all birds that should be respected & cared for thumbs up
I watch them only for an hour until they get cooked and that it, after that i enjoy them.drinking

@Milay that is nice I have thrown crumbs out and the birds come eat on the side walk. I use to have bird feeders but the big birds wouldnt leave any for the smaller ones.

I love birds and all sorts of animals found
in the wild. And I love to watch them on
ends. They are the cutest creation God has
ever created....
parti,
i have 5 males with 8 females, the reason to have 3 extra is,when the females is busy nesting, the males have plenty of times,so they can have fun with the other single females.

i had 70 lovebirds but i reduce them,i have only time for 10 pairs to take care and the rest i sell them wink cheers

felixdahousecat,
i love all birds, but i keep only lovebirds and my 2 chickens, and all have places in my garden,i made a special boxes for them, they can eat/drink anytime they want,i can leave them for 3 weeks with out any problem wink cheers yawn gnite
I really like watching/feeding birds.

I used to have a bird feeder but since I live in a trailer park the neighbors complained about the flocks of birds it was attracting. The birds would congregate on the neighbors trailers and they would do their business all over them.

When I go fishing I not only feed the fish (hee hee) I also feed the birds. It's really beautiful to watch the different species of birds as they feed around a lake.

And last but not least. I lived in a small town in Colorado that has a muddy lake that attracts Bald Eagles. That is really a sight to see.
I'm going to find something like that to attract the birds to the window and give if to local preschool, the kids will like to look at the birds. Thanks Millary...wave
the humming birds are cool to watch...most of the times squirells raid the feeders...but you can prevent that ....i lived near miami and the amount of parrots loose is amazing...
