Snowy day.

The snow is starting to go now. We had some rain this evening. I was talking to a customer tonight and he said that he had read that the snow, in our area at least, should be gone by Friday. For those of us that were told not to go into work yesterday that is good news because that will mean we won't lose another shift. Have a good evening/day everyone and thank you for the commentsteddybear

Snowy day.

Thank you for your comments. I'm due in work tomorrow and although I enjoyed today I'm hoping that I actually work tomorrow. We don't get paid if we don't work even if it's our managers who ask us not to go in. teddybear

Merry Christmas Everyone

Thank you for your comments. I will be going out shortly for a walk and a visit to my favourite pub which is open for 4 hours today. I'm not the type of person who likes staying in all day every day and go out even if it's just for a short walk. Enjoy your Christmas everyone. One thing my boss said a couple of days ago which made me think when one of my colleagues asked if he was giving his children lots of gifts. My boss said it's not the gifts that matter it's spending time with your family. Through working with people from different countries I get to learn about different ways that Christmas is celebrated and it's lovely learning all this. Christmas means different things to different people. For me it's a chance to relax and be with my son and if my daughter visits then it's all the more special.

RE: Life Strategies

Hi Ariel. For the next few days I know what I'm going to do. In a few minutes I'll be getting ready for work. I have work again tomorrow and Thursday. Before work on Thursday though I have to take one of my cats to the vet for dental treatment. A check up last week revealed that she is missing two teeth, one tooth is rotten, one has a fracture, the tip of another has a fracture and she has gingervitus. Luckily they managed to catch it before any infection set it. She'll be staying overnight and I'll pick her up on Friday. I only make plans when it comes to medical check ups and if I decide to go away. I prefer to take each day as it comes. Have a good day.hug

RE: LDR FAIL !

I've read this before as well but it's still goodlaugh

My most recent photos.

Thank you for your comments. I've also come to a decision about going away for a break next year. I've always wanted to visit the Lake District. This morning I went out and got some holiday brochures so I can start making plans. I've talked to my son and he's willing to look after the pets whilst I'm away. It will be the first time in over 30 years that I've gone away somewhere and stayed in a hotel. teddybear bouquet hug

Beachy Head

Thank you for your comments. On the way to Beachy Head I noticed a rather beautiful country park that I intend visiting during my week off. There is also a lighthouse near Beachy Head that looks interesting. teddybear hug

Hospital Visit.

Good morning everyone. Thank you for your comments. Lazly on my days off I balance standing and resting. At work not so easily done. That depends on the shift manager. One or two of the shift managers will send us for a break within an hour of starting our shift, some will wait the appropriate number of hours before sending us for a break and with others if it's busy we get our break towards the end of the shift. When I was on overnights last week the manager told me to take my break when I felt like it so long as I told her. I generally don't bother with housework when I get home I just relax. The general tidying up is done before I go to work. I won't let an illness rule my life but at the same time it's made me realize that I need to make changes in my diet. So something good has come out of it. Have a good day/evening everyone.

Hospital Visit.

Thank you for your comments. Don't worry Lazly I'll watch my cholesterol. The consultant checked my heart and blood pressure today--everything is ok in that area. The one thing I do know about psoriasis from my experience over the years I've had it is that stress effects it. And thinking about the times when I've been in pain from this arthritis I have been stressed out when I've experienced the pain, usually during a busy period at work. I'm just going to have to find a way of dealing with it. Anyway I have work tomorrow so I'm going to settle down now.gnite Goodnight everyone.

Thank you for the comments guys. Nice to see you again MrLonely.
@parti believe it or not this Windmill is on a golf course. I took the photo standing on the opposite side of the road as I didn't want to put the golfers off their game. I remember visiting this Windmill as a child more than 40 years ago. The village where the golf course is situated is old and the author Rudyard Kipling used to have a house there.

RE: Where Do You Draw The Line For Honesty

At the restaurant it's amazing what people leave behind----purses, bags, phones and even car keys. I always hand them into the manager who will put them into the office. I've even known people to throw away their car keys and phones with the rubbish on their tray and then it's a job for me to take the bin out the back and go through the rubbish until I find the object. I would hand the envelope to the teller.

New Camera.

Thank you for your comments. I posted the picture of the insects on facebook and a colleague told me that they were butterflies but didn't know the species. I've never seen butterflies like this before and I've never seen them grouped this way before either. Have a good evening/day everyone.

New Camera.

Thank you for your comments. The new camera is slightly bigger than my other camera. I'm still getting used to it and I must admit I enjoy using it more than my other one. teddybear hug

Thank you for your comments. @ partirolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing There's a smaller set of Troll Ambush Country near the top of the valley. It's still wet and windy here. I've got to go out later to a meeting at work. I think I'll visit the pub first though. Have a good day/evening everyone.teddybear beer hug bouquet

Funny thing with number 3 is on that day where I live it was brilliant sunshine yet towards the bottom of the valley there was mist.
@Laz apart from waiting for a hospital appointment I'm fine. My son is at work tonight. He was laughing this morning because next week he has all morning shifts, he normally has evening shifts. He's fine as well. How are you?
Thank you for your comments. I'm off to bed now. See you all tomorrow.gnite teddybear

RE: for the record

Lizzy just be yourself. All of us come to terms with break up of relationships in different ways and it takes us different lengths of time before we feel back to ourselves again. Hopefully we all learn from the experience. You are right forcing yourself to be happy when you're not isn't healthy. Blog away if it helps you to feel better. I keep a journal that I write in every day and use that to vent my feelings. I find that helps. I don't know if this would help you but if you feel like it why don't you give this a try as well as blogging. Have a good day/evening.teddybear sad flower hug

RE: is sibling rivalry normal?

I remember when my brother and myself were younger and didn't understand about age we used to argue about who was the eldest. He assumed that because he was the boy that he was the eldest. He is actually younger than me. Looking back on that argument from the perspective of my current age it was a silly argument but from such a young age ( 3 or 4 years old) a perfectly normal argument. I also have a younger sister (7 years younger) who if I'm honest when she was first born I was jealous of as I saw her as a rival for my parent's affection. Being a mother myself I now know that parents do love their children equally it's just that babies are more helpless than older children. Despite living reasonably close to each other we very rarely see each other. My sister and I aren't on speaking terms and my brother has a special lady in his life with whom he spends most of his time. Sibling rivalry is normal. Each family is different. hug teddybear bouquet

RE: SOME REALITY CHECKS FOR GETTING OLDER

Great blog takeme. Funny thing is yesterday a customer and myself were discussing this. We both agreed it's a state of mind. If you think and feel young then it will show on the outside. This lady is 61 years old but looks a lot younger. Life can throw up a few obstacles as we get older. We have a choice we can let them get to us or we can accept them and get on with enjoying our life anyway. The older I get the more I enjoy life. Have a great day yourself. teddybear hug bouquet laugh

RE: Do you believe Ghost exists?

Yes I believe in ghosts and finished reading a book about haunted places to visit in Britain a couple of days ago. What I like is the stories behind the hauntings. I've seen a couple of ghosts and have sensed them. Usually before one of my pets die a deceased pet will put in an appearance. That happened before my two budgies died a couple of weeks ago---one of my deceased cats put in an appearance a couple of days before they died. As I've said once before I belong to a psychic site and through them I've learnt not to be scared of ghosts.teddybear hug bouquet

Results of my tests

Thank you for your comments. Laz good suggestion about the aerobics in the swimming pool but you will not get me anywhere near a swimming pool I dislike water above knee level. The thought terrifies me worse than my thing about dead birds. Funny thing Ed my daughter said on facebook this afternoon that perhaps this might slow me down a bit and encourage me to rest up more---will it heck as like I love being active. I walk around a lot in my job and I like walking when I'm not working. Still she has my best interests at heart. All it will basically mean is that when it comes to heavy lifting at work I will delegate a bit more. teddybear bouquet

Results of my tests

Yes it is parti but in a way I've been expecting it. I was talking to my daughter about the tests and since my father talks to her about medical stuff that runs in the family (I once asked my parents years ago about anything medical that I might need to know and was told it wasn't any of my business). Well she told me that he had told her arthritis runs in the family. It was bound to happen sooner or later. There are treatments to control it and I'll cope. There are people going through worse so compared to some I'm lucky.

RE: Some Pictures I took

I love the sunsets. It's a beautiful there.

Two more photos from yesterday. If you look carefu

This was my first attempt at taking photos of rabbits. As the saying goes practice makes perfect and also praying there aren't any dogs around at the time would help. At one point I had a baby rabbit in my sights and a dog took me by surprise. It was a lovely playful dog and when I looked round the owner had 6 dogs all off the lead and he was having trouble calling them back to him. They were more interested in playing than taking notice of him. I photograph this and the sea more because when I feel stressed out and can't get out then all I have to do is turn on the computer and it helps take away the stress just looking at these photos.teddybear bouquet
