RE: lost

izzie I don't know if you have ever heard of the saying 'Better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all'. Personally I would rather take the chance. I agree with firas.hug teddybear bouquet

This past year.

I've been told it takes at least a year to fully recover from the op. I've had comments from regular customers and colleagues about the speed of my recovery. I'm not the sort of person who likes to sit around long. I followed my doctors advice but also I made a determined effort to get well by walking as much as possible. Before the op I know of one woman who spoke negatively about it but from my experience the op has left me feeling healthier. I went into hospital on the Saturday and came out on the Monday. I am really lucky with my son. He is very independent basically until he's able to get a part time job all I have to do is provide him with whatever money he needs. He cooks his own meals, does his own laundry and even now helps out with feeding the pets. Yes Brighton does have a stony beach as a child I used to think that all beaches were like that. There is also a lovely village nearby called Rottingdean, I believe the author Rudyard Kipling once had a house there. There are some lovely buildings here. baltus you're right it's a pity it takes being sick to appreciate our health. With modern life the way it is dashing here, there and everywhere sometimes we don't stop to think about the most important thing in our lives and that is our health.hug teddybear bouquet

Tried something new

Got home from work and checked this blog. What a lovely surprise to find a party going on. I've got tomorrow off and apart from cleaning out one of the fish tanks I'm going to relax. It's been such a nice day that we were really busy today. Sands I like trying out something new from time to time and it's something I've always encouraged my children to do. My daughter went up to London to live at the age of 16 and spent a couple of years in a hostel. She went back to school up there and passed the exams she had failed when she lived in Brighton. If she hadn't moved up to London she wouldn't have met her husband, a lovely young man from Algeria. Sometimes trying something new can lead to something good entering your life, in my daughter's case moving up to London to start a new life ended up in her meeting the man she loved enough to marry. You know what I like? When I write a blog and it ends up in a party with everyone having fun. You're a great bunch of people.danceline party hug teddybear bouquet

Tried something new

Something else new today. I didn't realise that Chai meant tea in India. I used to drink peppermint tea at one time after meals. I went through a phase of experimenting with different flavoured teas when I was married to my ex-husband. I ended up settling for redbush tea as I went off the others. When my daughter got married last year she and her husband had their wedding reception in an Arabian restaurant---it was a t-total reception with tea and fruit juices. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Anyway I'm off to bed now. I start work at 6 am tomorrow. Goodnight and thank you for the comments.

RE: it's hard to find the one in such a big world

Sometimes I think that by trying so hard to find the one we forget to enjoy life. It took me a while to realise that. Now I'm enjoying life. The one will come into our lives when we least expect it. Good blog izzie.

RE: Finding “the one” exists

Congratulations. Best of luck for the future. cheering dancing banana beer

RE: Yup!!!!

I find my job keeps me fit. I'm walking around a lot, lifting heavy bin bags, bending down to clean things. When I'm not working I enjoy walking whether its around the shops, along the coast or through the valley. As you can guess walking is what I enjoy.

RE: Tattoos

@Itchy my daughter was rebellious though she never went as far as tattoos. It was breaking curfews and vacuuming her bedroom at 1 am. She's 25 now and has blossomed into the most responsible young woman I know. Don't worry it's a phase some teenagers go through. As someone said the airbrush tattoos are a good idea at least those ones aren't permanent.

RE: Tattoos

Tastefully done piercings and tattoos look nice. However I do agree about getting a tattoo with the name of the person's lover. If that relationship ends then the new lover is reminded of the first love. Personally once I tried a temporary tattoo and liked it. I never did get round to having one of the permanent ones done though. I had my ears pierced years ago, I haven't worn ear-rings since my son was born. My son hasn't shown any sign of being interested in tattoos yet and he's 16. Mind you he's nearly always out with his friends or playing football for an amateur team.

Yes Jim it was windy. Some of the photos I took came out blurry where the wind was knocking my hands.
Thanks for the comments.

RE: long hair or shot hair?

I used to have my hair long but I got so fed up with tying it back for work I ended up having it cut short. I prefer it short as it's easier to keep tidy.

RE: WHY IDEAL MATCH???

For me looks attract not celebrity good looks but the ordinary guy in the street good looks. The guy I asked to meet for coffee he doesn't have celebrity good looks but he has a smile that makes me go weak at the knees and that special something that has nothing to do with looks. What I'm saying Goody is that looks are the magnet that draws me to the guy but it's that special gold inside that keeps me, that special magic that makes me feel good around a guy. It's hard to put into words but I think you know what I mean. That video explains it better. Good post.teddybear bouquet hug

RE: why women wear make up

The only make-up I wear is nail polish on my toe nails basically because it makes me feel good. As for the other type of make up I used to experiment with it when I was younger but in all honesty I don't like wearing it. The only things I put on my face are toner, moisturiser and sun-cream. I do that to keep my skin in good condition.

RE: how hard that can be???

Usually if I'm looking for something I don't find it. Yet when I stop looking I find what I've been looking for. I've heard the same applies to love. You will find love when you least expect it. Have a good day cytrynka.hug teddybear bouquet

RE: SEA HORSE

They have sea horses in the aquarium where I live. Some of them are really tiny. I've got two fish tanks in the living room. Whenever I clean out a particular one just lately I always end up soaked. First time I put the filter in wrong and the water shot out of the tank and soaked me. Yesterday I got soaked again when I was transferring a fish from a container it had been in whilst I cleaned out the tank back to the tank. Now this particular fish was too large for the net I've got so I caught it in a jug which had some water in it. The fish decided to jump out of the jug and landed back in the container with such a big splash that I looked as though I'd entered a wet t shirt competition. My son who was off college ill couldn't stop laughing. I did eventually get the fish back into the tank. Have a good afternoon goody.teddybear bouquet hug

Starlings

Thank you Rushka.

Starlings

It is a good picture Jim. With restaurants being in that area we get a lot of gulls and starlings with a few sparrows and once I even came across a kestral having it's meal where my restaurant keeps it's bins. The starlings are so tame that when some customers hold out a french fry they'll take it from the customer's hand. I do trash walks regularly and I've also seen gulls fly off with the little sauce pots that come with the meal. Pests the starlings may be but that display at roosting time is fascinating to watch. The only way I can describe it is it's like a dance in the sky. How on earth they don't collide with one another is a mystery to me. Have a good evening everyone.

Thanks for the comments. Lovely photos sweetsky. Clouds are fascinating aren't they? Last week I saw one in the shape of an angel but before I could photograph it my bus arrived. Oh well I might get lucky the next time.cheering angel teddybear bouquet

RE: a date with myself

Well done you for having a date with yourself. It is better than sitting at home all the time. After that guy turned me down for coffee I decided to go out by myself more regularly than I used to and you know what----I enjoy it as well. This way you get to meet people and make new friends. Last night I started saying hello to the people who regularly sit at the table next to mine. Have a good afternoon zweet.

RE: Hope not angry

The way I sometimes cook---well let's put it this way my son cooks his own meals because he prefers his own cooking to mine and he knows that it won't get cremated. From what my friend says the halogen cookers are good because you can actually see the stuff being cooked. You never know my cooking might improve.laugh Enjoy your day parti.

RE: Children; The Burden

Both my children were planned and you know what I don't regret having them. There wasn't a lot of money when I grew up and yes I went through a bad time with my late mother. I have since learned that she raised me the way she was raised herself. Saying that though I do remember some good times, visits to the zoo and day trips to visit my father's home town. There was always food on the table and her roasts were lovely. My father worked hard to provide for the family. With my own children, I've not been the perfect mother but none the less my children have brought me more joy than sadness. Both my children have the skills to look after themselves, in my daughter's case she is happily married to a lovely young man from Algeria. My children never robbed me of life, they brought a whole new meaning to my life----the sacrifices are worth it. I love my children and would never be without them. Emotion wise, they brought a heck of a lot of unconditional love into my life. They make me feel young and happy.

RE: Hope not angry

Have a good day Amy. My day off today. A facebook friend has recommended a halogen oven to replace my old oven that no longer works. So I'll be going along to have a look at them and see if I like one enough to buy it. I'm feeling good today and happy.laugh teddybear bouquet

RE: Favorite Fruits

To be quite honest I'm not really a fruit lover even though I used to like bananas. However since my op I can't eat this fruit because it gives me indigestion. I do drink prune juice though----this I enjoy.
