Thank you for your comments. I find that looking at the sky, particularly on a cloudy day, is fascinating. The clouds are forever changing and it looks lovely when the sun or moon shines through them.

Thank you for your comments. And thank you for the compliment Aswina. I had my hair cut on Friday so I thought it would be a good idea to post a new profile picture. My son kindly took the photo for me. Whilst I was at the pub my son set up the printer and the external hard drive I bought on Friday for me. When it comes to setting up stuff for the computer well lets put it this way it's better if my son does it. Now I'm getting more into my photography I've decided to print my own photos and I've just had a go at printing them. The people at the photographic club want to see some of the stuff I've done so now I'll be able to take a few photos in.

I read this blog this morning and couldn't think how to answer it. Reading the other comments, well I agree with what the others say. Just be there for your friend. Your friend will appreciate just having your company even if no words are spoken. Words are often useless in situations like this but a warm hug and just the company of an understanding friend can speak louder and offer more comfort than words can.

Memories of pets.

Congratulations on the job Calliope. We've had cats, birds, turtles, a dog, tropical fish, rats and hamsters. With the rats I used to handle them on a regular basis and they became so tame they'd sit on my lap or shoulder. I only had 2. A former neighbour used to keep more and would always be seen walking around with a rat on her shoulder. Unfortunately my home is too small to keep any rats now especially as we have the cats but some day I would like to get another one or two.

Memories of pets.

One of the reasons I only do one box or bag a day is that I never know what I'm going to come across and I tend to sit and read old letters and even stuff from my days as a mature student 14 years ago. I even came across an old book from school where the teacher had marked my school work and that book is 39 years old (I left school when I was 15). I tend to hoard stuff and every now and then sort things out. This morning I came across some clothes in good condition, books and cups that are no longer used so they will be going to a charity shop.

Rummy just looked at the scar on your profile compared to the one on my friend who doesn't cover her scar that's not scary. Her's is a lot more visible than that.

Rummy leave it. I know of 2 people with scars on their arms both not the result of accidents. One doesn't cover it up and to be honest unless it's pointed out I don't even notice it. The other one is self conscious about it and even on a hot summer's day he will cover them up with long sleeved shirts. The one who doesn't cover up her scar is the one in a relationship with a guy who loves her the way she is. Scars don't bother me.

As the others have suggested yona joining in the blogs is a good way of making friends and they're a great bunch here. A bit crazy at times but crazy in the good way that helps to cheer people up when they're feeling low and guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face. Well done for reaching out.

What a lovely gift for your children, one that they will treasure and be able to pass on to their own children. Yes time is fleeting but isn't life about creating new, wonderful memories together as family and friends. Have a good Christmas Millay.

Thank you for your comments. I've checked out their site and it looks interesting. As you say Jim it's a good way of meeting people and I can learn a few things. I have the habit of carrying my camera with me just in case I see something interesting to photograph.

Enjoyed photography club last night

I haven't visited the website yet but will shortly Firas. I didn't get home until just after 10.30 last night---at that time of night I prefer to relax and check out new sites the following day. They were talking about going up to Bath to get their photos judged re qualification. I've still got a lot to learn and I intend having fun in learning. Now both of my children are old enough to lead their own lives I've got time on my hands when I'm not working so I might as well do something I enjoy. Who knows where this might lead.

Congratualtions on your daughter getting her diploma coffee. Advantages of where I work---I get to meet and make friends with people from different countries. My boss hires a lot of students coming to this country to learn the English language some of whom will stay for a couple of years or more and others who will stay for a few short months. Some start work not knowing much English and by the time they leave most are fluent in the language. It's lovely watching their progress.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I know at this moment in time you feel as though you don't want another pet but in time you might want one. Give yourself time to grieve first though. New pets don't replace the pet who passed away they have a personality all of their own and will bring the joy back into your life.

Thank you for your comments. Whilst I was out I treated myself to a bunch of flowers and a book. I've done a little housework, now I'm relaxing until I go out later on for my usual visit to the pub. I've checked where the photography club is located and made a note of which bus will take me there tomorrow. Yes a little less drama is always appreciated Livin but that's life. I like to think that the dramas in my life are nothing compared to what some people have in their lives.

@ parti---yesterday was one of those days when nothing seemed to go right When I did my grocery shop I couldn't find some of the things on my list (I remembered to take it with me yesterday), a couple of the photos I took came out blurry, so I deleted them, I was talking to a friendly bus driver about a party I had gone to on Thursday (it was a manager's leaving party) and as I was talking to him my crown fell out and then I came home wrote another blog and well as they say the rest is history. I am happy now. I found a nice message from a moderator in my in-box this morning explaining about the blogs.
@ Lachi thanks I will enjoy my holiday. I did find the blog.

I can look back and laugh about yesterday.
You guys have seen an example of me being scatterbrained---everybody gets days like that, days that make us cringe but that's life, it happens.

I don't drive cloud. I'm lucky enough to live close by. If I walk it takes between 30 and 45 minutes to get there. If I get the bus about 5 minutes or so. Thanks for the comment.

Must Remember

Hi Livein. I agree re typo. It just didn't occur to me at the time that the title could be misread. Still when you think of it at least it put a smile on the faces of those who read it and a typo like that is worth it. Let's just say that yesterday I'd had a busy day but at the same time a rather nice day when I had a rather nice conversation with the guy who turned me down for coffee a few months ago. I guess I was tired from the busy day when I made that typo. Still I'm on holiday now and I'm going to enjoy it. I'm going out shortly. Have a good evening. I'll be back later.
