Does a visible scar give the person bad image?

This summer I,ve had an accident. When I was on Seaside I've hit the glass of the restaurant accidently when I turned suddenly not realasing the doors glass.I ve rushed to hospital an had twice surgery on my wrist. Now I have very visible scar on my right wrist.I think it's not that bad and it doesn't really bother me.But it bothers my mum.She doesn't like it and wants me to have a cosmetic surgery to lift up the scar. She say it can give a bad image to the people about you.Luckily the scar doesn't look like a deliberetly wrist cut.So I think its ok for a man to have a scar.People get accidents everyday and it can happen to everyone. But mum doesnt share my opinion.

So fellow CSers. What do you think ,Should I have a cosmetic surgery or I should leave it.

And ,do visible scars give a bad image about the person who has it?

And Ladies! What's your opinion about men with scars?

Hi Party.Thats what I think. But everytime mum sees the add on tv about scars removal she tells me that ,I should contact that clinic.lolhandshake cheers
Rummy, I agree with parti, leave it alone! It'll give you character.wink
Millay, hope not a bad charachter .lolwine
As Particolour said, Rummy, leave it be. The real issue, is
what you think about it. I have innumerable scars and I am
indifferent as to what other people might or might not think about them. Some women might find scars 'manly' (puff out the chest)!

Your Mum loves you, and she wants to remain as perfect as the day that she gave birth to you. Besides you did not upload a photograph for us to view the cause of this debate, and your search for a resolution to your dilemma.

Hi Rummy, I agree with Cloud!

I just saw the pic and I guess it looks a bit scary to your mom because it's a relatively fresh scar (I mean still too pink). With time it will get more and more invisible. Also, there are some gels/creams for scars. I don't know how efficient they are but after my son'r surgery we were advised to use them and now his scar is not so visible, probably also because the skin streches when he grows up...

Anyway, such scars are moere a turn on than a turn off for women... She s going to kiss it, you know! We women have mild hearts wink laugh wave
Rummy

If that was a deliberate attempt, I can assure you of one thing . . .

I WILL NOT

moms are moms rummy, unless she checks what pants are on ya today, thats normalrolling on the floor laughing tongue
just give her another topic for discussion like smoking ore girls and she'll forget about that scar forevagrin dancing
Party, actually i didnt want to tell that. But you made me.I got this scar from the asteroid ,while saving the Earth.detective laugh
Vitamin E oil, or wheatgerm oil (which is high in vitamin E) helps scaring to heal.

Also, I believe there is a new non-surgical technique for reducing scaring involving perforating the skin (with no more than a little anaesthetic cream needed) to promote your own body's healing response.

Besides that, I just want to point out that my scar's much bigger and uglier than yours which obviously means I'm much bigger and tougher than you. tongue grin
Haha Oly.nah,no one has a right to check my pants from now on.laugh rolling on the floor laughing

Jac,thank you.I might think about treatment in a couple of years.Lets see how its gonna look by that time. But vitamins E r good.thumbs up Of course you are tougher. laugh wine
Rummy leave it. I know of 2 people with scars on their arms both not the result of accidents. One doesn't cover it up and to be honest unless it's pointed out I don't even notice it. The other one is self conscious about it and even on a hot summer's day he will cover them up with long sleeved shirts. The one who doesn't cover up her scar is the one in a relationship with a guy who loves her the way she is. Scars don't bother me.
You forgot to say biggest, Rummy. scold

Add baddest to that list too, eh?
Rummy just looked at the scar on your profile compared to the one on my friend who doesn't cover her scar that's not scary. Her's is a lot more visible than that.
Thanx Kitten. No it doesnt bother me at all.I 'm a man with strong charachter so such small things cannot brake me.And your example is true.

Jack.laugh I hope you dont wanna punish me now, Big Girl.grin wine
Not until you beg for it, Rummy.
Rummy: I can't think of anything to say that hasn't already been said...except.....I thinks scars are a part of our history a part of out personal story. And I agree, that if it doesn't bother you, don't worry about itdancing
Rummy, guys have accidents. Accidents are badges of honor we guys accumulate throughout life. Just think of it as another notch on your belt.

I have a scar on my leg, which makes for an interesting story. Let's just say I had a fight with a saw, and the saw won.
Hi Lachi. No it doesn't look like a deliberate cut anyway. So anybody with logics would know that its an accidental cut.wine

Lq wine

Hugger.Agree with you.Next time make sure you beat the saw.cheers

Thank you guys n girls for your comments.wine cheers cheers
