Countryside and Seaside.

That's a lovely picture Jim.

Countryside and Seaside.

It is lovely where I live. The restaurant where I work is close to the sea and sometimes I go for a walk along the sea front after work. Thank you for your commentshug teddybear bouquet

RE: My pets

I have 3 cats, 5 birds, I've lost count of the fish ( I found 3 fry when I was cleaning out one of the tanks yesterday) and a turtle. All loved. Gin, one of the cats, snuggles up to me at night and a few months ago had to have most of his teeth out because of an infection. When the vet checked his health after the op it was discovered that Gin has a heart murmur, something he was born with. Good blog.

RE: Stand up and BE COUNTED ! ! ! !

Gin is inquisitive. He snuggles up to me at night and is really affectionate. The Valley is very peaceful, for about 3 months out of the year the local farmers put sheep to graze out there. There is a group dedicated to preserving it's beauty. Thank you for the hug here's a hug right back at youhug

RE: The Single Life

Why don't you just take a break from dating for a while. Get to know yourself, build your confidence. I don't know how long it is since you heard from this guy but my advice is don't wait around waiting for his messages, texts or phone calls. I used to be like you--happy in front of a tv screen but over the past few weeks I've been taking my book to the pub and sitting in the pub reading. The bar staff have got to know me and I sometimes talk to them. You know what? I'm no longer lonely. Even if you go out for a walk or somewhere that appeals to you for however long you feel comfortable it would be better that waiting for him to make contact. Who knows you might meet your prince when you're not looking for him.

RE: A dilemma

I would much rather be single and happy than in a relationship and miserable. If the right person comes into my life I will be happy. If not there is plenty of things in life to appreciate and enjoy. I live one day at a time and set out to enjoy it. I don't live by what if I live by what is the next adventure to look forward to. Just take each day as it comes and appreciate all the good things that happen. When it's time the right person will come into your life. I'm not looking at the moment as I'm happy the way I am making new friends and reading the blogs on here. Have a good afternoon everyone.beer teddybear bouquet

RE: Stand up and BE COUNTED ! ! ! !

Hi coffee. I'm real too trying to type with one of the cats dribbling over the key board (Gin had most of his teeth out earlier this year and tends to dribble a lot because of it). Have a good afternoon every one.handshake teddybear bouquet dancing banana banana laugh

RE: THINK ABOUT THIS

Lovely story. I see a lot of families in the restaurant where I work and it is always the kids that make me smile during my shift. Some of them get up and start dancing to the music and once I had a little girl following me around asking me what I was doing and why I was doing it. Kids are spontaneous with what they say and do. Your son is indeed mature.banana angel dancing

RE: WAYS OF DEALING WITH THE BURDENS OF LIFE:

Good blog Shadow. A lot of wise words. I enjoy being 54 and I'm proud of my age. With age comes something that we don't have in youth---life experience and wisdom. Have a good day.dancing banana laugh

RE: A second nature photo for your inspection

Great photo Jim. It's the first time I've seen Groundhogs.

Thought I'd share this

I don't know that one Daniel. My friend on facebook got that one from her friend and posted it on there. I thought you guys might like it so I posted it here.

RE: Don’t get bored

I remember the hand written letter as well and having pen friends. I also remember having a favourite author--Enid Blyton. I wasn't that keen on her Famous Five books but I loved the Mallory Towers and St Clares books. I ended up with a whole collection of them. I've only ever heard my 16 year old son complain of boredom a couple of times--he got up and did something about it. He goes out 2 or 3 times a week to play football for a local team and there are times when I'll come home from work only to find he's out with his friends. When he left school in the summer I started to consider him an adult and stopped placing a curfew on him trusting that he would come home at a sensible time. So far he's done that and now I never hear him complain of being bored. Technology is fine to a degree but it's good to combine it with 'old' style entertainment and by that I mean what we used to do for entertainment before technology. I still read books and magazines. I also go for walks no matter what the weather. A good blog.

RE: Deer friends :) (take 2)

Beautiful photo Jim. More than 20 years ago I was lucky enough to be visiting a forest with my now first ex-husband and caught a brief glimpse of 2 deer. They're very fast animals.

RE: Keep what you have now...

Good blog.teddybear bouquet thumbs up

RE: Advise please

Morgan unless you try it how will you know if you will succeed or not? Do what feels right for you. Good luck.hug teddybear

RE: Can you handle it?

I agree with Morgan trust and faithfulness. At the end of the day we all have our own idea of what great qualities we are looking for and each relationship will have a down side at some point. If you love and trust your partner then the relationship will work. As for family with my parents my late mother's parents wanted her to marry someone who owned a local business and could have provided her with a comfortable life. She chose to marry my father---a postman at the time of their marriage. Despite her parents saying that their marriage would never work their marriage lasted over 40 years right up until her death 10 years or so ago. With my family and friends I'm a grown woman yes I respect their views but at the same time if I feel the guy I'm with is right for me then they will accept him eventually.

Thank you for your comments. I'm off to work in the next hour or so. Have a nice day everyone.

RE: MISSING SOMETHING

My first over night shift.

Thank you flamelily and kissfm. I ended up coming home after 30 minutes in the pub because I started to fall asleep. Still I'm wide awake now and ready for the day ahead. Only one not so nice thing happened this morning and that's when I went into the kitchen and discovered that one of the budgies had died during the night. Out of all the birds I have Magic was the life and soul of the party. That kitchen is very quiet now. Have a good day everyone.

My first over night shift.

Thanks african. Think I'll go out now and spend a bit of time in the pub. Have a good evening everyone.teddybear bouquet

My first over night shift.

Today I'm relaxing. Tomorrow sight test in the morning and hospital appointment in the afternoon. Don't worry about the hospital appointment just a routine check us women over 50 have to have every 3 years. Thank you for your comments.

RE: i don't care to remember you.

daniel the past is something we learn from. It's what you are now that is important. We all make mistakes when we are young.

New Experience

As far as I know Parti it's a one off. Over here it's Bank Holiday Weekend and for the restaurant it usually means it will be pretty busy. At least by working tonight I will get the experience so if they need me to do this again I will know what to expect. I like experiencing new things it makes life more interesting.

New Experience

I will thank you flamelily. I've done a bit of housework--now I'm relaxing. Before I start my shift I intend to have a little walk along the seafront. I find a small walk helps me get in the mood for work no matter what time I start.

RE: if ...

Yes I would be willing to donate whatever part of my body would be of use to anyone who needed it.
