Hospital Visit.

Hi everyone. Today I had my appointment at the hospital. After the consultant examined me he told me that since my joints weren't swollen he wouldn't be giving me any medication. He also asked if I suffered from the skin condition psoriasis. Well as it happens I do suffer from psoriasis and have done for over 20 years. It turns out that there is another type of arthritis that is similar to rheumatoid arthritis called Psoriatic arthritis and can show up in blood tests as rheumatoid arthritis. The joint swelling with this usually, from what I was told, only lasts about a month or so. Though like rheumatoid arthritis not a lot is known about it except that it is genetic. If I'm in pain he's advised that I take painkillers. I had to have another blood test and I have to go back in 3 months unless I start to feel worse in which case I can book an earlier appointment. Life goes on. Whichever type of arthritis it is I won't let it beat me. Anyway I took some more photos today, I hope you like them. Have a good day/evening everyone. teddybear hug bouquet

Thank you for your comments. Don't worry Lazly I'll watch my cholesterol. The consultant checked my heart and blood pressure today--everything is ok in that area. The one thing I do know about psoriasis from my experience over the years I've had it is that stress effects it. And thinking about the times when I've been in pain from this arthritis I have been stressed out when I've experienced the pain, usually during a busy period at work. I'm just going to have to find a way of dealing with it. Anyway I have work tomorrow so I'm going to settle down now.gnite Goodnight everyone.

SK - Hi there. hug

Nice photos! ... I really like the mix of greens and shadows in the middle picture. wow

"Psoriatic arthritis" - I didn't know about this... having different kinds of arthritis makes sense... but I didn't know there was one related to psoriasis. Interesting.

It's good that you are looking after your health and figuring out ways to manage any challenges that come along. thumbs up

Thank you for sharing your experience and your new photos! cool

Good morning everyone. Thank you for your comments. Lazly on my days off I balance standing and resting. At work not so easily done. That depends on the shift manager. One or two of the shift managers will send us for a break within an hour of starting our shift, some will wait the appropriate number of hours before sending us for a break and with others if it's busy we get our break towards the end of the shift. When I was on overnights last week the manager told me to take my break when I felt like it so long as I told her. I generally don't bother with housework when I get home I just relax. The general tidying up is done before I go to work. I won't let an illness rule my life but at the same time it's made me realize that I need to make changes in my diet. So something good has come out of it. Have a good day/evening everyone.
