Yesterday I went to visit the Royal Pavillion and went inside. They had an exhibition on called The Forgotten Princess. It was about King George IV's only legitimate child Princess Charlotte. Basically what the write up said about her was that she was born in January 1796 and died in November 1817 shortly after giving birth to a still born son---she was just 21 years old. It also said that she was the Princess Diana of her era and that if she had lived Queen Victoria wouldn't have been born and we would have had a Charlottian era. After her death there was a rush to father a legitimate heir to the throne. Edward, Duke of Kent, fathered the eventual heir---Queen Victoria. Until I went to that exhibition I had never heard of Princess Charlotte. It wasn't just an interesting visit it was an educational one as well. One of the photos is of the Royal Pavillion unfortunately they didn't allow photos to be taken inside the building. The rest of the photos are from this mornings walk.
