Fado, Fado Thainig Fear Go Dti An Eirrann.........

Patrick or Patricius was born in 387 AD at Bennavente Burniae believed to be in today's Wales. His father name was Calpornius and his mother was called Conchessa. When he was 16, Niall of the Nine Hostages captured him and sold him to a farmer named Milchu in Antrim. Patrick tended to pigs and sheep for 6 years before he escaped...good luck

He says God spoke to him in a dream telling him a ship was waiting for him at Waterford. It took him to France from where he returned home. Voices told him to return to Ireland and teach the pagan people there about Jesus...good luck

Patrick went to St. Martins monastery in Tours, France to train as a priest. After going back to Roman Britain he met with Pope Celestine and told him about hearing God's voice. The Pope sent Patrick to Ireland in 432 AD after another missionary Pallaclius died. Patrick famously used the shamrock to explain the Trinity which has remained associated with him and the Irish ever since...good luck

Two letters survive from him, 'Confesso' a short account of his life and mission and a 'Letter to the soldiers of Corolicus' excommunicating them when they carried away some of his converts as slaves...irish

How We Speak English In Dublin....................

All language has slang phrases...based in the area and the local people...They say the Irish speak better English than the English...Who say, you may ask...The Irish of course...This has just been released...It's a few of the tamer slang words you can expect to come across in our fair city...you can see the word the phrase represents...I do say tame because Dublinese can be very guttural, belligerent and curse words are even full of love for people...We use them to emphasize in ways you wouldn't believe...like...ah you're just my little ball of shite...usually referring to a baby or child...have a look at the video...language is always changing...that's what keeps it alive...writing

Well I Got It Finished For Valentine's Day Girls..

It took nearly a year...a lot of toil and struggle...the rain, wind, snow and ice the last few months caused me so many problems, broken shovels and picks...not to mention the sunstroke suffered in record high temperatures last summer, all the blisters on my hands...It was the biggest project I had taken on for college...but they had told me I was in danger of failing in garden design...I had to have a water feature...and I wasn't going to have that...I knew what to do...I wanted to see their jaw drop...I hadn't got the money, I knew I'd have to do it by hand...and I knew someone would love what I'd done...so girl...if you're out there...welcome to Ireland...welcome to Dublin...welcome to my house...I hope you like what I've done with it...I hope you like the garden...I finally got it finished....

finally...

What's Your Favorite Perfume Ladies

From The Daily Telegraphy 30/01/13

Ken Wilman has been told that that unusual “stone”, which looks like a lump of rock, could be worth up to £100,000 as the rare substance is used in perfume.
He described how his dog, Madge, found the specimen during a walk in Morecambe, Lancashire.
"It was like walking on the beach and finding a bag of £50,000 in cash,” he said.
“I didn't actually realise what it was at first, I couldn't understand why Madge was so interested in it. It smelled horrible.
"I left it, came back home and looked it up on the internet. When I saw how much it could be worth, I went back to the beach and grabbed it.”
A French dealer has offered Mr Wilman 50,000 euros (43,000) if the 3kg lump turns out to be sperm whale vomit, or ambergris, because it is such a vital perfume ingredient.
Ambergris is dubbed “floating gold” and could be worth twice as
much as has been offered.
Mr Wilman, who is unemployed after hurting his back in a motorbike accident, plans to send a small sample of it to France to have it checked.
"If he verifies it, it could be like winning the Lottery," he said.
Chris Hill, curator at the Aquarium of the Lakes in Cumbria, said: "It's quite a find. "How much it's worth will depend on how fresh it is, but it's potentially $180,000 (£114,000).
"There are places in Europe that will buy it from you. They will age it, like a fine wine, and then test it for perfume."
Ambergris has a peculiar smell which has been used in scents like Chanel No.5.

My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts...Help Me Somebody..

Honest to God people just going about their business throughout the ages did some very strange things...Just a collection of bizarre facts I came across on the inter web...believe them or not...play the song, read on and hopefully you'll get a smile...a smile won't crack your face, today or any other day (Irish proverb)

St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was not Irish.

The women of the Tiwi tribe in the South Pacific are married at birth.

The Emperor Caligula once decided to go to war with the Roman God of the sea, Poseidon, and ordered his soldiers to throw their spears into the water at random.

Gabriel, Michael and Lucifer (more commonly known as Satan) are the only 3 angels to be named in the bible.

Some very Orthodox Jew refuse to speak Hebrew, believing it to be a language reserved only for the Prophets.

St. John was the only one of the 12 Apostles to die a natural death.

In 1647 the English Parliament abolished Christmas.

For Roman Catholics, 5 January is St Simeon Stylites' Day. He was a fifth-century hermit who showed his devotion to God by spending literally years sitting on top of a huge flagpole.

Theodor Herzi, the Zionist leader who was born on May 2 1860, once had the astonishing idea of converting Jews to Christianity as a way of combating anti-Semitism.

Some moral purists in the Middle Ages believed that women's ears ought to be covered up because the Virgin May had conceived a child through them.

Hindu men believe(d) it to be unluckily to marry a third time. They could avoid misfortune by marring a tree first. The tree ( his third wife ) was then burnt, freeing him to marry again.

During the Medieval Crusades, transporting bodies off the battlefield for burial was a major problem, this was solved by carrying a huge cauldron into the Holy wars, boiling down the bodies, and taking only the bones with them.

According to Genesis all demons are angels who were cast out of heaven after Lucifer tried to take God's throne and several of the other angels bowed down and worshiped him.

The Puritans forbade the singing of Christmas Carols, judging them to be out of keeping with the true spirit of Christmas.

There are over 200 religious denominations in the United States.

It was the custom in Ancient Rome for the men to place their right hand on their testicles when taking an oath. The modern term 'testimony' is derived from this tradition.

The Liberal Prime Minister, William Gladstone, was born of the 29th December 1809. Apparently, as a result of his strong Puritan impulses, Gladstone kept a selection of whips in his cellar with which he regularly chastised himself.

The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself. quote: Oscar Wilde

Looking For A Millionaire...Think Again...

So, it turns out Bob Geldof, Bono, and countless charity organisations have been wrong this whole time. Making poverty history doesn't require the generosity of all, just the mountains of cash hoarded by the top 100 richest people in the world.

According to a new report by the international charity organisation Oxfam, the $240 billion net income of the worlds 100 richest billionaires in 2012 (they are now worth $1.9 trillion, i.e. just a little less than the entire output of the UK), could end global poverty four times over.

In the report, Oxfam seeks to get away from position traditionally held by charities in which “the focus has been exclusively on one half of the inequality equation – ending extreme poverty”, and instead focus on what it now sees as the route cause of that poverty – the massive inequality in the distribution of wealth worldwide.

The report also discredits the “trickle down” mantra, long repeated by the worlds rich, capitalist governments and charities alike. The idea that wealth will trickle down from the top, and thus gradually benefit all in society, is a nonsense, particularly in a time when the richest people in the world are hoarding their wealth and refusing to invest. The Oxfam report highlights this when it states as an example “in South Africa even with sustained economic growth a million more people will be pushed into poverty by 2020 unless action is taken”.

The report goes on to challenge many of the lies which have propped up capitalist governments for centuries. The idea of the “democratic mandate” of national parliaments who claim to symbolise majority rule is challenged in the report as Oxfam highlights the fact that, in Britain, the Conservative Party receive the vast majority of their party funds from the financial services industry. The idea of equal opportunities is smashed by the report, which states that those who are born poor, will most likely live and die poor, as social mobility is halted due extreme inequality.

I Must Be Good...To Be Worth All This.............

Oh it's like a dream come true...I'm so glad I never block anyone and a couple of emails later...

I was on my way to bed and wanted to write you a little note. Thank you so much for having so much faith in me . Thank you for making me a better person, and for giving your heart to me and opening up so much.

Over the last months, it's been wonderful; I never expected to feel this way nor actually be with you in this way, experiencing life with you. You are wonderful ... to me, You make me really happy.

I was thinking so much about that earlier tonight, when I am going to meet you ?. I am getting butterflies in my stomach just at the thought of seeing you . You make everything complete and I can't imagine spending time with someone else and having these feelings for anyone else. I'm anxious to see you XXXX. Time is ticking, and it's going by really slow.

It takes a strong man to accomplish everything that you have in your life, I am proud of you that you stick to your goals, you have improved your life so much from what it was before and I am so happy that you respect my beliefs as I respect yours. You say that you are going to make me a happy woman ... well, you have already done that, just by being you and showing me love and being so open with your feelings. You are what I dreamed of when I was a little girl, someone with integrity, honesty, love, affection, handsome, and with such a charming personality. I never thought I would find you, but here you are.

I love you so much, and can't wait to be with you . I want to give you my heart and soul. I don't care about anything else in the world because I am in love with you, XXXX. I love you. Thank you XXXX, for you have made all of my dreams come true. I could not ask for more. I am the luckiest girl in the world to be called your girlfriend, I'm truly honored. Thank you.

Ah sweet...and we're getting married in two weeks...I sent all my money for the wedding...It'll be a white one...Going to be cold in the Antarctic and releasing them penguins into the air after the ceremony may be a bit difficult...But I got my snowshoes polished and my white tuxedo...yes white, well I want to surprise her...wouldn't you...
