it can be hard work coming up with ideas to please an audience, 'electric and electro-coustic' music is not a big bucks and glory game, and for the hours spent in the learning and creative process there can sometimes be little more than the personal satisfaction of 'getting it nailed' musically speaking...
the 'process' is made easier when we are fortunate enough to have dedicated people to work with, when a single goal is being worked towards, and when the point of focus is 'good enough' always trumps 'near enough'...
when you go down to the pub next and live music is being played, stop, listen and think for one moment about the hours spent by musicians, their freely given rehersal time, fuel expenses, wear and tear on gear and transport and general outlay, nearly all of which is 'on-going', and that as part of a quartet, they may only be taking home 50 quid a skull for an evening that includes travel, setting up, playing, breaking down and late nights home...
its not all 'guns n roses', and we do it for the love of the game more than the money most of the time, so, the least the audience can do is show some appreciation for musicians by acknowledgement and compliance...please let us do our jobs unhindered by equipment tampering, damage and sometimes even theft, give us space to set up and break down, and please please please dont 'help' us with extra percussion instruments you might have brought along...
music, its there for everyone to enjoy, and participation is appreciated, but you wouldn't get behind the butchers counter and help him make your sausages, so, let
us entertain
you, and you in turn can support musicians, live music venues, pubs and clubs and help keep the universal art-form alive for everyone to enjoy, now and for years to come....
