Here's a thought.
How would you see the world if you were me?
Imagine for example, this site, with some of these posts.
Now look at it through my eyes,read some of them and tell me what you see.
This should be interesting.
Sometimes I read the crap people post on the forums and it really just makes me weep.
But then I realize , you know what, some folks just won't get it.
So they will continue to spout their awful tripe.
And Breathe
This week I've heard of Nigerian girls taken from school to be sold. I've heard two young guys in Queens trying to abduct young girls. I'v heard of assaults on women from all over.
My question is this. Why do men think it's okay to do these things?
Why is it that men the world over can't see women as an equal human being and not just something to shove their ( insert word of choice here) into and to clean their houses cook their meals and raise their children?
I know there is no real answer to this, but damn.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.

When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.

Okay this is something I've been wondering for a while.
For myself, I am Black. Plain and simple. I think it's the easiest way to identify me at first glance. A small child would say Brown. It refers to the color of my skin. it makes sense.
Now here in the States people say African American. Truth is I am American born, but both of my parents are Guyanese and didn't move to the States till they were both adults. Visually we are all what we call Red boned. You know folks with skin the color of toasted almond or Toffee. It just means we are a mixture.
Okay all that being said, I just say I'm not African- American, just say I'm Black. It's simple and easy until you wish to know more.
Where am I going with this?
It has been my experience that people who I would call "White" based on just the visual of the paler skin (paler than mine), more angular features, the mostly straight hair, etc., don't always consider themselves "white". I've had people who are Greek say "oh I'm not white". Or people from other places say it to me, and then I say, looking at them, ummmmmmmmmmm okay?
Now this is where I scratch my head. I completely understand cultural and family pride of being from various countries. Anyone with a European background, I was taught was White.
So I put this question out there. What is being White to you?
before you answer I just want to say this.
I learned a lot from my children. When my kids were small and they described people just based on the visual, they would say brown , beige, and pink. That just always made me smile.
And I never correct them. there's nothing to correct.
Okay so again, what is White?
It would be interesting to see the responses in an international setting.
I used to write alot. Then for some reason I stopped. I decided it was time to start again.
Thoughts in the flow of my mind. Some will get it, some won't.
Some will appreciate it, some will scratch their head.
It's all good.
It's the free flow of the mind.
This is something I've been wondering about. Why is it people find it so easy to make fun of and be mean to people online.
Yes I know it's the whole anonymity thing, but really? Why instead of either contributing something positive or funny, why is it that so many go for the insult?
Am I to think , wow that's how these folks are in person?

Sometimes I am amazed how people just can't or won't listen.
It's like the thought of just sitting back and listening is a crime.
As I look around I realize I have become spoiled.
What I mean is, in my social group I've been around men who just overall rock. They are the kind of men that love strong women. They love and respect women with their own dreams and desires. Who are independent, talented,and intelligent.
These are men who want and have partners in life. Not just someone to bolster them up to make them feel like the big macho man.
These are men who are strong within themselves that the only women for them are warrior women.
Wish there were more guys like them out there.
This has been something that has confused me for the longest.
There are people who are adamant about prayer in school. Especially public schools.
For those folks I ask, how come you don't send your kids to a religious school, if you feel it's so important? Also what about Sunday school? I remember having to go to Sunday school.
Your children will get the religious teachings you desire at both of these places. So why push it in public schools?
You know it's time when it's no longer fun.

I don't know what it is , maybe it's a CS thing.
I'm just finding in a wider worldwide forum, well maybe not as much, a lot of very conservative views.
Maybe it's an age thing, cause yes age does play in how a person thinks. Things you grow up with in a certain time are going to influence how you think.
Music is a good example of this. As much as I do like the music that comes out now, I know a good many people just a few years older than me or even my age complain about it. Kinda like how their parents hated their music.
But I notice it on other things, just a lack of open mindedness.
Perhaps I've been spoiled cause my physical social group is made up of so many different people from all walks of life. Artists ,writers, actors, and musicians.
Hmmmmmm now that I think about it, maybe that is the difference. We all share a common passion in the arts. We see things with a different eye.
Eh, it is what it is.
