That which changes with a few effort is a habit (except drug addiction) and that which does not change even after a lot of effort is nature.

Habit is located at the conscious/subconscious level of the brain, so it is easy to change. Whereas nature is located at the unconscious level of the brain, so it is very difficult to change.
To change nature you have to reach the unconscious level of the brain. There are some spiritual meditation practices to reach the unconscious level.

Habits are not easy to change. If that were true we would not have so many dysfunctional people.

I can change any of my habits with a little effort.

But I have not given up, I am still trying.

You can change your nature but its hard to do and you really have to want to in order to see it through. You have to step outside of yourself and train the rational part of your brain to kick in when your sub conscious naturally wants to do something you dont want it to do. Its a hard trick to pull off but it can be done (thats why I'm still alive today). Eventually your sub conscious will start to do what you train it to do and with time, you won't have to be stepping outside of yourself as much because your new behavior will become normalized and natural.

It don't happen overnight though
