New here, are you supposed to just rate the photo or do you rate the person in the photo?

Both. Everything in the photo. Clarity, visibility (is the person close enough to camera for us to see they're entire face especially), background (does the room they're in look like a pig sty or is it acceptable & blend with the type of pic they're in?), brightness (all pics aren't made to be ultrabright or have the same contrast, as long as its bright enough to see personal features), is the profiled person in the pic obvious, or is it crowded with 4 other people?

I've rated a bunch on the photo itself not the persons looks.

yes me too rather wondering with this feature..
what is the value of photo rate??
As ooby, I do agree that the first thing that people count for is the person's looks on the picture, not the photo dunno
