No one takes my occupation seriously, but it doesn

It has been approximately 1.5 months since I have started work as a pre-school teacher, and the reaction that I usually get from my friends when I tell them is, "Are you SERIOUS?? I CAN'T IMAGINE!!!" After that they ask me to demonstrate for them how I would discipline the children and I give them a half-hearted attempt. Usually it goes something like this: "*Name of friend whom I pretend is a kid* why are you talking? Sit down now!"

And my friends laugh (notice the harshness), "HAHAHHAHAH, that is so cute! :D I bet the children love you."

Despite their initial disbelief, that last sentence - even if it was meant to be sarcasm - is really what warms my heart and makes me love my job.

Will blog more!

Your job is probably THE MOST IMPORTANT of the children's education as they are so impressionable at that age. I would say take no notice of your friends. You have a brilliant job, you're very lucky and i'm sure you work really hard.
This is a job to be proud of what you do!!

To teach children in any way is a blessing!!...Be proud of who you are...I would be proud of you if you were my friend!..
take care!
It's nice to see a person with a truly international and boundaries-free sense of humour.
Forgot to add: the sentimental twist was lost on me -- too long, too many turns of speach, by the time the point was made, I was lost in the maze. I don't know which is that last sentence, and I don't know if it warms your heart or not. My IQ is not high enough to keep track of what is which and which is what.

This is strictly a personal account, call it literary criticism if you want to, it is not an opinion or a judgment on your character or on your emotional life.
Haha tarapapp, no worries. I have a friend who is a critic of every piece of literature I write, so I have gotten used to it. I wrote it in a 'rambling' style lol. Read it again! :)
Teaching is a great profession. I am a teacher myself, and I have never, in my 5years of teaching, regretted having chosen this great opportunity. The opportunity to make a difference in a child's life.

Cheers
