Gone Beach Combing

Gone beach combing in MInnesota
Along the railroad tracks
Walking along
Eyes on the hidden treasure
Black oiled iron

As on the sandy beaches
I search for the whole
Sand dollar
I search the tracks for
Railroad spikes
And chunks of debris
From an Iron Monster

I did go beach combing
This morning
And did find Treasure
Spikes and debris from
My Iron Monster
And I shall build and alter

Hi Diamond. Read your poem, but it kind of left me hanging in the air at the end??? I use to write poetry up until 2002 then I felt I said everything. I don't travel and have new experiences and that is why I was dried up. Wish things were different now but I'm like in a prison now. I did write on about the rails long time ago... " The Penny " The whole thing was a medaphor ... two children seeing a vision of the ww11 after putting a penny on the track. wave wave
Spring, as long as you're not hangin by the neck;-)
I found some good stuff.
Gone metal detecting
on the railroad tracks
found nothing
but a train got me!
DW ~ wave For what it's worth; I spent, between the ages of 8 - 13, many hours on the railroad tracks (1 km from my home) - I used to collect coal (in buckets) and sugar cane, that fell of the rail cars, by the armload. Tasty & delicious treats. Even sold a few.

13 - 25, was my beach combing years; I learnt of the ocean, its treats, treasures & perils! best years of my life! banana wine handshake yay yay peace
