the lincoln movie

who else has seen it...went w a buddy yesterday...so much to say and write about it...personally i think it could have been shortened...it was mostly dialogue...but an intense movie...how much of it was actual history and how much just plain ole hollywood...i just have to investigate this...(have to state though so much emphasis on the plight of slavery...but how about the native americans who were then enslaved by Grant??!!)

the lincoln movie.
I thought the Acting was good but the teeth were a bit wooden laugh
Hi Sweetie: It is strange, that particular movie has come out at this time. I have not seen it but I have been downloading You Tube videos and the last 12 have been songs written during the time of the American Civil War. Some are romantic and some concerning the events of that time. Right now, I am finishing up putting the musical guitar cords to the last five. I like them very much because they are so true and down to earth. It is a project I am on for myself... I now have 140 songs corded and I will stop there then eventually but a printer and print them out. I enjoy singing with my guitar, besides other things.. photography, etc.wave wave
No, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I understand the nature of the environment in the country during that time. In the 1830s, settlers were far from being the pilgrims of old. Wild West?, hell, the whole country was a bit wild then. Grant with the Federal Government as a whole, sent troops out west to kill indians to grow the country. 17 trillion dollars in debt now, it wouldn't surprise me if we took south America to grow the country again.
i agree the slant of the movie seemed to b more about political intrigues then the plight of african americans...and of course nothing was made mention of...and i do not recall seeing an indian anywhere thru out the movie....where were they...anyways...most of it was about Lincoln telling stories and the realtionship w his wife...do have to research was peaceful terms REALLY denied until that amendment was passed...was it true that many continued to die?? whoa i need to do more research...
It was a chalenging time for all then. I'm part Cherokee indian and I understand what the settler had to face and I understand the need to wage war during that time. Indians in the west were killing settlers, Pony express riders, cutting telegraph wires, burning bridges that support railways, invading trains, etc.
i have cherokee blood also...well heya were we suppose to just let them take over our lands...after so many broken treaties...there's a lot more to it then what u indicated which i am sure u know...but for others in other countries maybe not so
