Rules of dating --- Why do we follow them

So the other night I went on an absolute amazing date. Things went great was offered a second date. Yet I have not recieved a phone call. I did however call and leave a voicemail -- it was short and to the point. All it said was Thank you for the great time.
You would think if dating didnt have any rules it would make those playing "the game" much more confident.

The 3 day callback for guys, I mean come on if you are interested just send a text or something. Many men leave women on the edge of their seats in a limbo.

A lady is not supposed to call to often or call at all because it can make her seem desperate.

Personally I think the dating rules should be simplified and spelled out in black and white.

My advice is don't wait by the phone just get on with your life and if he calls go with your instincts, if he doesn't it's his loss. You're a pretty young woman who can attract any man she chooses. A decent man will get back to you and ask for another date or at the most stay in contact with you somehow. With my boyfriend it took him 2 days to respond to my message after I responded to his reply to my ad. Turned out he was busy trying to make sure his 50+ employees kept their jobs. This guy might have a legitimate excuse or he might not. Never put your life on hold for a man and the same rule applies to men re putting their life on hold for a woman. Anyway who says dating rules have to be obeyed? If you don't want to obey them give it a couple of tries asking to see him again then give up.

WELL I HAVE LEARN'T WITH THIS DATING OFF SITES TO GO OUT ENJOY THE MEAL , GREAT CONVERSATION,HAD A WONDERFUL TIME, BUT IF THEY SAY I WILL GIVE YOU A CALL, I NEVER SIT BY THE PHONE WAITING TO HEAR FROM HIM, AS YOU CAN BE WAITING FOR A CALL THAT NEVER COMES.
ALSO I LEARN'T NOT TO RING THEM.

Update:

Its official. My date did not find me appealing. I never did get a callback or anything but I got the hint when I was deleted from his accounts. Although a No thanks would of been nice.I was treated with respect while out on the date and that I do appreciate.
So I am now off to other fish in the sea. Hey at least I had a good time.
