"THE FIRST SEPTEMBER 11TH"(USA)..........
..................Yes its that time again for us here in America....Much the same thing as Pearl Harbor was to the generations before us.....But there was another September 11th that happened here in the U S A ......The Baker Fancher wagon train was traveling thru Southern Utah at the time.....When the Utah Territory Militia (comprised mostly of Mormons) and some Pauite Indians attavked them.. the otheres dressed as Indians attacked the wagon train...but were held off for 3 days....The attackers ..realizing they were recognized as not being Indians did nt want this getting out to the public...So Commander William H Dane...ordered a full assault and the wagon train and to kill everyone in it so there would be no witnesses.....With the Emigrants out of water..there was a truce and under the white flag...they allowed a few of the attackers in to talk...The militia members they allowed in ..assured them they would be given safe conduct...After tha Emigrants were escorted out..about 500 feet from where they left...there was an ambush awaiting them.....aaaafter it was over....120 men women and children above the age of 7 were massacred...17 children under 7 were passed out to surrounding families.....John D Lee was the only one prosecuted for the massacre...and on March 23rd..1877 he was executed by firing squad...so...157 years ago a tragedy for its time occured......."The Moutains MeadowS Massacre"...September 11th,1857...........
