I have been dating online for a long time, and I have met a fair number of interesing poeple; however, no one actually made me want to be with them forever, perhaps not yet.Once in New York, I met a man, but on our first date, he mentioned his ex and how he thought she was the perfect person for him, the love of his life. I met a man in Bucharest who was kind and considerate, but unfortunately he wasn't interested in me in a romantic way. I met another man in Bucharst who wanted to hold my hand, but I wouln't let him. Perhaps it was just too soon. I also met another man in Greece, who was only after one thing. I also almost got scammed on line once.
I think my experience grew with every unsuccessful date. I am no longer looking for the perfect man, but for a nice man, a man considerate of his surroundings and people around him.
I know of a girl who met a man on line, got married and moved to Canada. Her success on line made me think that perhaps the internet is a place where one could meet someone for a serious relationship, something I refused to believe in the past. Perhaps, my prior misconceived notions about online dating have only caused my failure where men were concerned. Perhaps, it is chance to give internet dating a real chance.

I think after you have been through a traumatizing or difficult situation, you are somehow changed into a more intuitive person, a more sensitive one, with sharper antennas that can help you much easier pick up clues from the people around you. And those who refuse to understand what someone has been through cannot love you and are not worth one’s time. Somewhere is one who will accept you for who you are.
I have been single for 8 years now, with scattered dates and very short term relationships that led nowhere. Yet, I am in no hurry, believing that the right person for me is out there, and with a little bit of luck, we can find each other.
