... the eyes of a child...
i visited my daughter and grandson...i thought it comical the excitement he
expresses each time he watches "shrek".
today while venturing in a wildlife area,
i was fascinated by the beauty
of a tri-colored heron...
i have see possibly hundreds..
and have many photos...
i remember meeting folks that ask
why i continue to photo the same variety
of heron over and over again..
today i realized why..
i do not want the same photo
of a heron i already have...
i want the photo of the
heron i do not have...
that is when i understood
the journey i am on...
i am not seeking the eyes of "age" and "wisdom"...
it is the wonderfilled eyes of a child that i seek...
to hold moments as precious ...
and look forward always to the beauty
that is all around....

simply beautiful treasures...
the things we miss...
most lovely...
it seems at times our eyes
have been conditioned to not see...
things of great beauty...
like the water drop hanging
precariously to the tip of
a leaf...
while sunlight dances
through it...
i have watched a song bird..
in an open meadow...
sing its heart out
for all the world to hear..
while circling above.
the song attracts the attention
of a hawk...
the little bird sings undaunted...
its being is its song...
its gift to the world...
its being...
nice add .. thank you..
i remember when my daughter
first saw fireworks...
she was standing in
the bed of a pickup truck..
i was watching her
through a camera...
my mother hes that photo
to this day...
her real eyes of wonder .....
