Is there honest people exist

I have seen many profiles on different websites.most of them wrote that they are looking for serious relationships.and how sincere they are for what they looking for.but seems there are not so many honest people in internet.I had met 2 in person from websites.in the begining of 2008 and the end of 2008.both of them appeared as a very honest person.but later I got letters from both of their gfs.to tell me that they were actually liars..
I donot understand why people like to play games like this.can they really get fun from it?people afraid of been cheated but why they think they can cheat other people?is 'honesty' still exist in nowadays?
