Conrad73: People here have been going around for Ages,selling single Roses in Restaurants at Night,making a living from that.
Not sure how it works here in CH, but in SA that is also a huge industry. I sussed it out though ..... all the workers (young girls) were slightly debilitated in some way, either with a limp, some deformity, speech impediment, etc ..... and she travelled with her "protector" to the different night-clubs/bars/venues to sell her roses. A very pretty intelligent high school girl tried applying for this type of work - and she was turned down!I think the idea behind this is that people feel bad (guilty?) not buying a rose .....?

wedward: is it old fashioned to give flowers or other little gifts like chocolates or do you think its a good way of showing someone you care
Last time I received Flowers and chocs, was Friday.
My daughter (11 yrs old) Gave me a potted plant of miniture roses and a box of Maltesers. - I thought it was an early Mom's day presant, but she said it was just cos she loves me!! Ahhhhh Bless!

I have a friend in the village with a Rose shop, she leaves small bouquets out at night and an "Honesty" box for the cash ....... She reckons her best sales are late at night, when men travelling home buy them .........
