My reaction to meds is usually the reverse of what it is supposed to do.
Verset? and demerol usually hype me up.....most pain meds that I have taken in the past, I am up washing the floor at 3 am. Go figure, I think it has to do with chemical makeup in your body.
To me it would ultimately depend on the operation.
If they were going to cut me open and be reaching inside of me I'd probably be better off asleep. Although the idea of watching them do that in an overhead mirror sound intriguing too. I think the most dangerous thing about being awake for that is the idea that I'd probably flinch at times making it difficult for the doctor to do precision work.
I've had lots of dental surgery done and it's never bothered me. Novocain was all he used. I had a dentist operate on me for 4 hours one time. It was more exhausting than anything else.
Also, if they're going to be sticking tubes down my throat they better put me to sleep otherwise I'd be gagging really bad. I just can't handle things shoved down my throat. I gag very easily and can't seem to control it.
I heard that a colonoscopy isn't real fun either. But they won't put you to sleep for that anyway I don't think.
yes thats right, they only sedate you here for a colonscopy . they didnt even offer to put me to sleep when the i/v sedation didnt work very well. they just did it, i did kick the doctor though on accident the pain was so bad, infact the worse pain ive ever experienced
