JASON656: Hi Inked, well I guess we have had everything in oz this year now, fire, earthquakes, floods and cyclones...This is great fun unless the roof collapses
as long as you are enjoying the fun
but nah on the serious note ... hope it don't get any worst
Well I like to find positives in every situation and the positive here is that our dam levels are going to rise and I think the drought may be over I will try to keep you all posted on my fun...Jason

JASON656: At the moment we've had 180 mm of rain in 6 hrs and the wind seems to have dropped right off.I read in yesterdays newspaper the mayor saying there is no cyclone shelter in mackay. guess everyone will just leave town huh....lol jason
Hi Jase, good to see ya!
I used to love the cyclones too, it may be a different story if anything major happened, but fortunately i was very lucky. I did a lot of clean up work with the SES in Cairns after the cyclones, always a fun job!
In a bathtub with a matress over the top of you is the safest place to be if it gets too rough. Take care and hope all ends well.

I'm back...well the warning on tv said we are clear but there is still a lot of rain and its really helped the gardens and the water catchments so I guess the water restrictions should have finished. jason
From what it says on the bureau of meteorology, it's going to hit around Bundaberg way, and hopefully be back to a Cat 3 (which is better than the Cat 5 it has been).
We are getting stronger winds down this way, maybe between 27-30k's...nothing compared to what would be up your way, and the forecast for the whole week here is rain...such joy takin' my kid to school !
Anyway, hope all the people on the coast of QLD take care and stay safe !
Ralf74: Larf is driving up that way to get to a wedding in Ayr, she might be looking at heading inland if it is still around when she gets up that way.
Ack ! Well make sure you keep us posted that she's okay...drive safe Larf !!

If larf is passing Maryborough, she should call in for a coffee with Bubbles

I am not sure which way she is going, Bubbles, but i can certainly find out!! It may change depending on this cyclone. She was talking this morning about heading through Charters Towers to avoid the coast.

looks like they reckon it's gonna fizzle out over the next 48 hours.....only hope it doesn't turn and head this way....we're already getting the effects of it...up to 50k winds and heaps of rain atm...really would like to know what's pissed mother earth off so much to cause all this destruction that's happened lately

Larf has made it to her destination safe and sound. Now she thinks she will go up to Cairns for a couple of days to catch up with some mates then come back down to Ayr for the wedding.
KityKat78: I'd say you are probably right. They're still predicting it's gonna weaken over the next couple of days, and it seems to be turning around and heading back north. Still alot of destruction along our coastline though, which is very saddening to see.
well it is already a rain depression but now it's moving north to build up again I think. So don't count hamish out yet.I was in Darwin when phil went across the territory ,died as it crossed then reformed and menaced Darwin before heading back out to sea.I can only hope for the best
