gussi: Hi Weddy, yes i know the laws in the uk as i also have a shotgun licence for skeet shooting but unfortunately the police dont treat the applications quite as they should. And the requirements needed to obtain one are no where near as strict as other countries in europe (skandinavia excepted).
You only need to go to romford, and can buy a firearm almost over the counter with no questions asked. So like i said in my previous post, no matter how tight the laws are those who are hellbent on having a forearm they can get one.
// interesting artical worth a read ,,,gun politics in the uk,,,,

Better outlaw Steak-Knifes now,and all Edged Tools as well.
Except,it won't help much, when you have people versed in making mechanical devices.
You'd be surprised what's possible.

ghost007: I think all guns should be banned and only those with really good reason should be allowed to keep one single gun for instance if their house is located in the wilderness and they need it for self defense otherwise I would not allow it at all there are too many gun crimes ..by individuals that find it very easy to get hold of guns

thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up I agree with u. I don't know whether the license it's just for one or a collection of guns????

In case of criminal we all know what the law says about them. we are talking about individual(businessman)who have a collection of them and don't follow the rule on how to keep the gun.frustrated frustrated

rusty_knight: We have glorious brave hunters here who blast away at little (and sometimes not so little endangered birds) migrating birds as they fly over this little rock of an island.

Our villa has been peppered with shotgun pellets in the past and I'd not be too happy if I'd been accidentally blinded. The hunters can get a little 'uppity' if their right to hunt is questioned and have burnt the cars etc of those who have dared complain too much!

There's always been the claim that making guns illegal equals the criminals having a free hand as criminals are less likely to obey the law.

I think it is an ongoing debate, especially in the USA - where the 'right to bear arms' is almost genetically imprinted in a large percentage of the population.

I'm sure that's why we have all these shooting then frustrated frustrated
