I didn't make mine with cabbage...onion, potato, carrots and parsnips...love parsnips. Put all that on the bottom of a crock pot and the corned beef on top.

wudnt eat cabbage only with boiled ham spuds n parsley sauce never corned beef

I like to reheat the cabbage and pototoes and put mustard all over them. Yuuuuuuuuuum!

druidess6308: Ah, that's okay...just brings back memories. This, and liver and onions, were foods I only got to eat at my paternal grandparents' house once a year when we visited them. My mother refused to cook them, even though my dad loved them.

I can cook the liver and onions, but have never made the Irish stew myself. I'll have to do it some day.

Thats the classic Irish meal with white sauce or maybe parsley sauce, boiled ham not corned beef
