Many have alcohol problems, Many can do it minumally, some are recovering Alcoholics, and some have just never drank Ect,

Explain your past experiences with Dating one that thinks opposite, for whatever their life long reason is, and how Alcohol affects a new relationship, when this hasnt been discussed as a priority. Coments , experiences, and discussion!

Will this be the last determining factor, When you find a mate?
Does this seem Critical, at the Moment?dunno

Thank everyone for your Input!handshake teddybear

I have dated a man who stopped drinking the entire 4 yrs I was with him. But it didn't bother him for me to drink ocassionally, usually when we went out.

I dated a man for 5 months I knew he drank too much on the weekends but that was all I knew , until one day It all came out he has had 4 DUI and no license. I thought he had only had one DUI, well that showed he had a severe problem. Then I found out he also was a crank head, He said he had tried it but he didn't say he was still doing it till one day when he was acting really weird. Then he told me the truth.frustrated doh

Usually I won't date someone that doesn't drink at all now or has a problem with me having a few ocassionally. Or one that drinks and gets weird. Or one that drinks all of the time.

I could not be with a heavy drinker. Saw too much pain with
family and friends when alcohol was abused. I do have my egg
nog and rum for the holidays but consume very little alcohol
through the year.

For me it is critical......although I take a drink from time I am thinking to eliminate it from my life altogether......I would have zero tolerance for someone who has alcohol addictive problems......there is more to life than drink....conversing

I don't drink alcohol but wouldn't mind if a man that I was involved with drank once in awhile.

When alcohol begins to control someones life and interfers with his job, family life and that person becomes abusive etc then it's time to give it up.

Achohol's the type of thing I can take or leave.

I can't imagine it being a major factor in a relationship, unless she has an alcohol problem, and expects me to quietly watch her harm herself.
