If I could I certainly would try but there is a point when something is a minor habit that we need to just be accepted for who we are.

i suppose it would depend on the habit, assuming it was a bad habit, i would probably try to stop it.

If I knew it was annoying to her, most definately, out of love and respect for her. Annoying habits die hard though.

Well if the person loves you he/she will deal with it. If it's minor that is. Depends.

Sometimes we assume we are not be hurtful, but assumption is dangerous to a relationship.

Most of us don't do things to purposely annoy others and my guess is that in a lot of relationships it's the small amount of annoyances that help destroy them but really it's overlooking someone's laugh, snoring problem or whatever and loving them. There it is again. It's not asking what you can give to me in essence perfection but what do we give to each other. Acceptance. If we accepted ourselves and others more I think there would be a lot healthier, more joyful free people out there.

I have listened to lady friends moan and groan and say they
are going to leave or get a divorce because their man,
leaves the lid up on the toilet, forgets to tiolet paper
on the holder, doesn't put cap back on toothpaste, doesn't
close bathroom door when they are alone, says I love you
so many times a day it gets annoying.
I know ladies men have some crazy reasons for saying they
have had enough also.
I just wonder sometimes, especially on days like this when
it is too dreary to go outside, what happened to compromise
or even better yet, not sweating the small stuff.

I feel flexibility is called for, yes. One needs to accommodate another's wishes, feelings.... even habits. I think the important thing is that they tried. Failure is a part of life and being human but to not even try would probably irritate me more than the "habit" itself. And, yes, the reverse would apply, me thinks...

I would do what ever I could to stop it. If you love someone I would think that you would do what ever within your power to stop it. But some habbits are hard to break as well. And I guess it would depend on what it was, right?
