I looked into the eyes of an angel.
Her wings were tattered and torn
From the tragedy she'd endured
In the fury of a storm.
In her eyes I saw such beauty
And the loss that scarred her soul
Yet God stood ever with her
His angel to console.
And taking her in his arms he spoke,
"I have prepared a home for thee
And safely there you will always dwell
Throughout all eternity."
Dedicated to Angel.
She lost everything during Katrina.
