BebeII: Fine, but from what I and many others have seen so far of his plans, those "chances" will be very costly, if not dangerous.
Chances being very costly....if not dangerous? Reminds me of a certain war that our country started without any real proof in the first place and was later admitted by that current president as an "intelligence failure"....
Don't retort too hard either, because I'm not even democrat OR republican, liberal OR conservative. Life isn't black and white (literally and figuratively), and politics shouldn't be either. This in lies the failure of a strictly two party system. (Don't get me started on independent voting, that's only a protest vote and has been for a long time). The problem with a two party system is that either side will make extreme changes, and as soon as the other party gets control they undo these changes and make MORE changes in the other direction, undoing any chance at progress.
MANY of you who read that last bit will automatically blame the political party that you hate/dislike, but that is probably a bad idea, seeing that both sides of this political coin are to blame for so rarely finding any middle ground to make any real progress...
"United" States of America. You all divide yourselves, fight and squabble. Why? Where does it get you in the long run? Two recent wars later, you're still doing it. Shouldn't we be making an example to the world that we, America, can do better than this? That we can behave like adults should?
jlw45: i saw it one time on the news...on one chennel...and no, it was'nt fox....if it had been a right wing polotician, we'de never see the end of it...they would play it over and over and over and over and over again
McCain has screwed up SEVERAL times on the teleprompter and it wasn't shown that much. Simply because, there is no need to memorize a long speech when you are going to have it in front of you. I don't care who messes up on the teleprompter, I care about the facts they are giving.

Ypou may want to take back your statement, as most of the intelligence agencies around the world believed the same thing as the CIA. You may also have noticed that the CIA has been reluctant to do their jobs as well. Of course we fight, because we have very different ideas of what is best-that's life m'dear.

*sigh*
Yes. We attacked an oil-rich nation with a seriously horrible leader when we could have hunted down thousands upon thousands of war criminals in the former Yugoslavia. On top of that we are taught to hate Venezuela because of Hugo Chavez, as if he is the only person in the world to hate the United States. Yes, he's a bad leader, but what about the fact that he is leading a country sitting atop one of the largest oil reserves in the Americas, let alone the world? Hmmm....and we just had a president and vice president who were both deeply involved in the oil business. Odd, but "no, we're not acting out of self interest"...riiiight.
Will Obama do anything better? Probably not...I hope he will, but I don't have much hope in the American presidency anymore. Like I insinuated in my previous post, presidents aren't elected to change anything. And lets just say Obama does make good change for the United States? Some dumb redneck or an inside job will get rid of him, sadly....but that has become normal for America, for leaders to be incompetent...and that makes me more sad than anything.
And you really don't give the CIA enough credit. Everything revealed at Watergate seems to have taught U.S. citizens nothing. The fact that the CIA and NSA exist should bother any sane American, but it doesn't. Go back to sleep America, everything will be fine....fine and dandy. And either way, the CIA is no longer relevant, for the NSA has been back at it for years. If anyone believes their wikipedia definition for the NSA, I feel sorry for them. When it comes to these agencies, don't do "mainstream" research about them. All our news and information is so filtered, and we are in a state of constant "patriotic denial"....

I still do not see the logic in this! We have different ideas, therefore we must fight??? I myself can't go with the grain of modern-day American culture in the aspect that we must insult eachother on a daily basis and pick fights on the internet and in daily life to make a point. How often does that really change the other person's mind?? The country is divided, but who said we had to act like this? Like only barely educated animals? We are drawing lines in the sand like elementary school children. Do you REALLY believe fighting is the only way? Since when did it become "normal" to accept confrontation as the only means?
