Hi gingerwave

Assuming the guy's guilty - of course he could be innocent - how sick do you have to be to murder your fiancée on the honeymoon?

it is weird..... I can't think of a reason for someone to want to murder his new wife... not that there could be a valid excuse for that of course...

but why marry her?

Many marriages are broken beyond repair on honeymoons when people are forced into each other's company for weeks at a time when they don't really know each other. Maybe she wasn't giving him any, or found out he had a small appendage and laughed at him. Who knows these things.

It would appear that she wasn't the light of his life anyway, because he would have been watching her, (to the stage where he couldn't take his eyes off her, if they were madly in love,) and so he'd have seen her get in trouble, and rushed to help because he would be supposed to care, and since he was experienced in diving and such things.

The valves on those tanks are round the back aren't they, so no way she could have turned it off herself, and if someone else did, no way she could have reached it to put it on again.

Someone would have to have held her under too, because natural instinct is to go to the top if in trouble. She would also have looked to her husband if she got in trouble, since he was the one she'd have known best, and she'd have known he was experienced in such things and could help her.

Any of that being the case, (and not saying it is here,) he'd have been in a position of trust and in a great place to take advantage, if he was harbouring a grudge. He definitely had opportunity.

For anyone to flip to the extent of cold-bloodedly killing someone like that, would mean they had some latent psychopathic or homicidal tendencies or other mental illness lurking, and it was only a matter of time anyway... Motive is not always so easy to find.

Just wondering what kind of a woman would marry him knowing he was accused of killing his first wife just a short time before, and at that time on the run.......dunno

I think you have hit on something there. Naivety allows for being in love, or what people suppose is love, but is really a dangerous place for someone to be, not using their common sense.

Knowing too much doesn't seem to allow for those softer feelings that come with naivety, and being cynical is no fit replacement for the gentler feelings needed to see people through that love fog needed for long term relationships.teddybear
