druidess6308: Age is just a number, and she's only nine years older than you...that's not a huge difference in the long run, really. Especially since most men die before their partners, it would make more sense for a woman to date a younger man. You've known each other for a long time, and if the relationship is that good, who cares what your families think? Hopefully, they love the two of you enough to want you to be happy. Honestly, go for it, enjoy it...and there's nothing "forbidden" about this one.

I don't agree that age is just a number. A man of 40 has different interests than a woman of 20. A woman of 70 has different interests and possibly deteriorating health issues then a man of 50.
He is questioning if he should be with her because of the nature they knew each other. If he thought there might be a problem he should have thought about that before they were intimate.

not that big a age difference might be of concern to your mum depends how protective she is but you both adults and up to you to exsplain to her its your decision and expect the family to support your decision

dont let age bother you. if its legal, and both parties are comfortable with it, which you seem to be since things went further, then it shouldnt be a problem. what made you overlook the age difference when you slept with her?
