I have slept under the stars. The moon effects ( affects?) me in a most mystical way. I also love puppies! Ta Ta! rolling on the floor laughing

The full m oon brings my arch-enemies, the werewolves out. Naw, I love to sit out under the stars in a rural area, far from the light pollution. You can see everything and it's just enchanting.

Well, hey man. Here you gotta worry about Grizzly's and Cougars and all that. It's a risk I'm willing to take.

I worked in the Egyptian Red Sea as a dive guide and when we used to go into the middle of it to the best dive sites, we used to anchor up and there was no light pollution at all.

So all you could see was the blackness of the night, and the pin-pricks of light coming through.
The only sounds you could hear were the gentle slooshing of the sea gently lapping against the side of the boat.
The slight rolling motion of the boat, made it a really special place.

Never any clouds to hide the stars and never any light distraction.

Just peace, quiet and tranquility

No, i've never been bitten by a grizzly or a rattler. If I'd been attacked by a grizzly, I'd probably be dead, lol. I've been around Rattlesnakes before though, we get along.

Nah, the bears aren't too prominent, it's the mountain lions that are, but you can fight those off. The only way to get away from a pissed off bear is to shoot it with a REALLY big gun. That, or have a tank.

LOL Well, I could handle that then.
I have had a couple close calls with black bears though, They can make a man feel mighty small sometimes

I love your description... I've been skinny dipping in the lake at night, floating on my back and gazing at the stars...

A couple of years ago I got lost trying to find my hotel in Maryland and spent a while driving back roads in the dark. The moon was full and I suddenly realized it's the same moon I see in my back yard and I no longer felt "lost" - determined which way was south and got back on track. Sometimes while camping the moonlight has been srong enough to make shadows.
