Pete31: Ok, it might be irrelevant to this thread, but so is Bono & this business interests.

No it isn't. If a person lectures the world on how much money is needsd to fight poverty, yet deprives their own state of millions in tax revenue which could be used (a) to contribute to Ireland's overseas aid and which (b) could be used to fight poverty here. Okay, very little chance of that happening with our government, but the hypocrisy is plain to be seen.

scribbler83: My god I post crap when I have drink in me. I can remember posting on this thread, but I can't remember posting at the time I'm meant to have posted.

The spelling got a bit lost there but I was trying to give out about bono. I also meant attention seeking. I apologise to Ali though. She's not necessarily a muppet, just that husband of hers.

Oh and I'll try not to post after 5 pints again!

Hay English master, don'y drink your head off. cheers

JMNewman: DO you have problem with rich and famous people? If you want to rich and famous, which i think you do, you better start giving some of them credit, because some( including Bono) do deserve credit.

What I have a problem with is people who lecture us on poverty while depriving the state of tax funds. I don't see how that is even a controversial position.

A good musician is questionable, a good showman undoubtedly...but seriously, his arrogance seems to know no bounds

If I absailed instead for concerns closer to home, do you think it would attrect as much attention or PR for those in question? Ali is Bonos wife...if she was a nobody like me would it have made a difference today? Would you be arguing about it now?

Fair point. That said we only know her through Bono, so he was inevitably going to come up at some stage.
