So are your maps strictly terrain and topography or do you do similar demographical mapping?

I've been working on a series of maps that show marine species at risk
I do historical overlapping (rubber sheeting loll apparently I'm the only specialist of this sort hahaha)... This permits me to find old buildings, roads and stuff. historical and archeological.

At the moment i'm working on demographic data.
I live in the only french province in canada
and we english are a minority
so, we are working on services offered english in the health sector and in the education sector.
we are gonna do the same work for the french outside of Quebec.

Sometimes here in the hospitals, the only people that can speak english are the doctors...but if someone has to stay in the hospital, the other caregivers have trouble communicating with the patients and thats awfull when you're sick and you want to tell someone that something hurts and nobody understands you.

Basically, just about everything is mappable... if it's mappable, I can do it lol

cheers

Cool, so how do you find the proliferation of mashups that people are doing using data sources and tools like Google Maps and Yahoo's Fire Eagle intersects with what you do? Does it even intersect (either in compliment or in competition - if that's possible) or do/could you draw a distinction?

Ah yes, the likes of Google Maps is a point in time service versus the historical data sources that you're building. Interesting work I imagine.

I love my job...
the reason why I believe that I work in cartography, When I was little...my dad would take out maps to chart out his hunting trips. And,I thought I was gonna go in arts, but you only get paid when you're dead...so I figured that I would like to have money while i'm alive lolll so cartography combines a bit of money and an artistic side lolll
