Last night I watched a cute family comedy. This is one that is very good for kids of all ages. It stars Ice Cube as a sports memorabilia store owner who falls for a cute single mother (Nia Long). His main friends are his partner and a bobblehead Satchel Paige statue.

IC gets a lot more obstacles in his attempt to get with the mother than he ever planned on. First of all, the mother only wants to be friends, but equally significant, her two children are hell bent on interfering with any romantic progress.

Most of the movie centers on IC's favor of attempting to transport the kids to a Canadian party that the mother is hosting for New Year's eve, as part of her job. The kids have other plans and out of the conflict comes many disasters, hilarity and a growing bond between him and the children.

Despite all the challenges, the net result is a very happy ending. And as Satchel states, "I love a happy ending !" I give the movie a solid 6 stars out of 10. It's good clean fun for any family and contains a few good messages. See it with the kids, or whenever you feel the need for a good laugh.

peace
