ok if u have porridge oats and a pair of tights

thats all u need

put some porridge oats into the tights and run a bath
let the wather run over the oats and it will stop/ease the itching

swear it works

best of luck

Bread soda in a luke warm bath is also good and is usually to hand. I had them last year and believe me its much worse for an adult than a child blushing laugh

happdude: I got them young. apparently it gets dangerous if you get it as an adult.

I was grand.
This is so wrong though, obviously I wouldn't pick the pocks on my face but I did pick them on my scalp!
Such relief!!!

Bread soda..mixed to a paste with a little water. Or added to a luke warm bath. Calpol will take the edge off the itch a little to help them sleep.

I got chicken pox at 35. Very mild though thank God.

Jesus girl!
I got em just before I was 16, and it was alright.
Apparently the further into adulthood the worse it is for you.

Mine weren't too bad. Doc said at the time they were probably dormant since childhood but then triggered by stress. Had a lot going on at the time.

Strange thing is I used to be very prone to cold sores which is a version of the same virus. I haven't had a cold sore since the chicken pox. Apparently one type of the virus can sometimes kill off other types.

In response to: hi all,

I got chicken pox when I was 23. I was working as a babysitter and the kids parents took them to the doctor and he said...whatever you do .....do not put calamine lotion on as it only makes the itch worse....I had been using it and it did not seem to help, I seemed to improve as soon as I quit using it but I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to a lot of stuff.
Would go for the alternatives mentioned by people on this thread..Hope everyone feels better soonwave
