yeah well...after your thread about guns and seeing your rudeness and basic stupidity in treating the subject your now doing this flip-flop by asking this question. Why is the question I'm thinking? At the moment I really have zero respect for your opinions about anything.

rose150T: You wrote America... I can agree with you, there are a very large number of very rich cultures in America, North American, Central America and South America. All different all very rich.
Where would you like to start from? I don't much about North America, but I know a few things about South America and Central America. Having in mind Brazilian they own my mother language, not us in Portugal anymore. We are 10 millions and they are more then 200 millions.

You are right, when we talk about America we tend to talk only of the USA. Good point. But South America has a bad rep too here in some ways. Feel free to tell us about the wonderfull culture of South and Middle America please.
pubwrite08: America is my home, I was born and raised here. Nope It does not always go smoothly here, but it is all I got.
I have the right here to basically do as I please as long as I do not hurt another individual. I could get on a soap box right now, with a bull horn somewhere, and as long as people are not hurt I could say what I want.
We are like a family, dysfunctional sometmes, but if there is a crisis, and one of us find ourselves in it. Other Americans that we do not even know will come to our AID. For instance 9/11 or hurricane Katrina.
All Americans do not agree with the way our government is run, and speak out about it. That is also another plus about being American, we can do that.
And last but not least America is my country, and it is the only one I got. So I will not bash America. JMHO
Yes Baby.. the only and the really true American in USA are Indians and Black American.... the others are come from Poland or others country.... but here is not anymore white people....

Its kinda easy to step om your toes sir, especially on the gun topic. You dont take critisism very well do you? The way I conduct my reasoning is not yours. So what. I like to be controversial.
I can say good and bad things about my own country too.
If you think its rude, you're right, this is how I challenge peoples true opinions.Because most people tend to hide their true intentions. Not me.

rizlared: You see culture to me is a way of life that is created over many many generations, a lifestyle that varies not just by country but by region within a country, so the reason that Europeans appear to have an arrogant view on American culture is because America is still baby historically when compared to Europe.
They have their traditions, but even those are in some way associated with those brought over from European countries
I guess the most worldwide cultural identity created by America would be a big tubby old man in a red suit white beard and black boots, who was designed by Coka Cola and called Father Christmas
This is exactly what I mean thank you very much. This is the way many europeans see the USA. In their defense I will say now.
Didnt all the immigrants from europe brought their age old culture to america and made a new culture from all the different cultures? Is culture defined by age or identity?

Every once in awhile I go to Washington, D.C. for a visit.
When someone asks me why do I like Washington I tell them, I like the culture that surrounds me there.
The culture in Washington entails the Capitol, White House, Washington Monument, Lincolns Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Vietnam Wall, Museums, The Old Post Office which was once a little post office but is now a plethora of shops and eateries, the FBI and nearby the CIA, the Kennedy Centre and so on.
This is how I describe the culture of the United States. I enjoy being in the midst of what these buildings represent.

In response to: Like I said in another thread I always defended american culture here in Holland. Cos many arrogant europeans say AMERICA HAS NO CULTURE.
So I would like to hear from americans themselves what they love about their culture.
So people like me in Europe are better able to defend your position here.
Thanks in advance for positive comments. I wont be very gentle in this thread to negative american slander, although you will be free to do so also if you cant help yourselves.
I dont see anything wrong with the American Culture.....when in Rome do what the Romans do.....
