I'm curious if anyone has had a date that was just flat out original or different from the usual movie, dinner, dancing, or group event...a date where the other person (or even yourself, if it was a date you made) gave it some thought and it showed.
For instance, a date took me on my first glider ride. It was also a first date and a surprise. We drove a ways out through countryside in California until we got to this little glider airport and went for a ride. Afterward, we had a picnic in the meadow next to the airport and watched other gliders and ultraplanes come in. What was cool about it was that he didn't know if I'd like it or not. He just wanted to do something special and different. And it was a wonderful experience. So has anyone else had a date like that? I'd like to hear about it.

The most memorable date or time was going over to the Oregon Coast and flying kites on the ocean on a late Summer's day I will never forget it or the person I was with.

The most memorable date I've had just happened recently. I had been planning it for months. Sometimes it was off, and sometimes it was back on. Nothing really special like jumping from an airplane or anything like that, just a simple dinner followed by coffee and a sunset, then met the next day for sightseeing. But just the fact that it was with a person 2000 miles away who I met on here, and it worked out perfectly. We had a blast. I will never forget.
I remember one date more than all others in my life. I had been in Vietnam for the last year. Things over there wasn't very nice. I flew home to northern Michigan. When I walked off the airplane and into the terminal I saw the most beautiful woman in the world--my wife. I will never ever forget that moment. She made my day, my life. Nothing compares to knowing someone is waiting for you and cares for you more than anything else.
That date on January 17, 1973 will alway be special to me.
