Contact a local swimming pool; you will find a qualified instructor there who can help you better. They will be well used to helping people like you who are coming to swimming at a late stage.

In most swimming pools you can book a one on one lesson with an instructer. anyone who starts adult swimming lessons is in the same boat as yourself!!! if you really want to get a lil head start you can get a private instructor although most of these charge about 20 for 30 mins
check out swimireland they will be able to provide places and tutors for you
