Good idea and constructive too if it works for all of us with limited Computer knowledge and budgets.

I have a problem with my Internet....... I have Virgin Broadband with wireless netgear. Main computer is connected via an ethernet cable as is my lads Xbox, and my laptop is connected via wireless..... My problem is... If I am on laptop, then one son is on main comp, and other son is on Xbox we are all online and we seem to be cutting each other off the internet, we lose all connection, then it connects again then cuts off ... And So on ..... Is there anything I can do so we all can be online at same time without losing the damn connection frustrated

Hope this made sense to someone!! rolling on the floor laughing

I am not an electronics or Computer hardware engineer but by logical thinking, it sounds like you MIGHT need a better quality Broadband router and a serious look at the connection facilities BUT I could be wrong.

Thanks for that Mike. I think I shall have to go onto google and try and compare routers, see if I understand thier 'specs'. I maywell be back asking for more advice on that too. lol

Personally..get rid of windows (or at least split your hard drive)..and install the latest version of ubuntu..it's free and does the same as billy boys windows vista....

It's free and a lot less virus and glitches...

If you are using explorer either update to ex 8 or modizlla 3.5...should do the trick...

Hi Folks & Leisure07,

Not pc buff but know a little, in Vista click on start & then select all programs, and fourth option down will be Windows update.

Select that & you'll start having all updates required for your machine relating to any MS product.

As to Pheonix suggesting other web browser, just use google tos earch and I'd advise to allways download from designers own web site rather than 3rd party.

This is my first post here & if you need advice regarding cameras I'll help as much as I can, (used to work in camera store), though I've lost track with modern models.

Also, Pheonix, was in Paris recently and it is a lovely city and plan to return there in quieter season to see everything in more detail. Weather was superb and just a great place to be, seeing as its normally raining in Edinburgh, lol.

Cheers.

What's the exact model of the broadband modem / router that you've got?

Also if you do a broadband speed test - eg this one
what results do you get?

Any error messages when you lose all connections?

Do you lose connection with 2 out of 3 devices connected, or is it only when all 3 are connected?

Do you know how to get onto the admin pages of your modem / router? If yes, what so they tell you when the line drops?

Have you tried Virgin Broadband technical support for help?
