I can relate. Both of my marriages were to men who were real cold, mainly when i was really hurting. He wouldn't hold me. We women long to be held once in a while, and be reminded that we are loved no matter what. I guess that is why there are romance books to read. Hope you are doing better.

Yes men can show effection without it turning into foreplay, I used to show my wife affection all the time, sometimes as simple as a passing touch. Several times a year I bought her flowers for no other reason then just to show her how much she meant to me and how much I loved her. Your longings to have someone show affection regaurdless of a hug or kiss are not to much to ask I think we all need that kind of affection. Good luck dear one in your search for a good man
