I ask that you pass along a message to Congressman McClintock ; " The current health reform bill still doesn't address the real problem why health care is so expensive . The real reason is NOT what hospitals and providers claim ( uninsured and foreigners being treated in emergency rooms etc....and 20 year olds without insurance ) These hospitals that claim this are still buying up doctor practices , building new medical facilities, and paying their executives huge bonuses . And the health insurance companies are still expanding and enjoying corporate bonuses as well." THE REAL REASON is that Hospitals and medical providers ( like surgeons and specialists ) are raping the public by purposely overcharging for medical services , and the health insurance companies care-not to negotiate these providers down - THEY SIMPLY PASS THE EXTRAORDINARY INCREASES ON TO THE INSURED IN RATES !! A very good example is the cost of a simple surgery like Gall Baldder removal .....which used to cost $ 3k - $5k a few years back . Now we're looking at close to $ 20,000 for that simple 30 minute surgery !!
We've tried " free-enterprise and competitive business for self-regulation for the past 10-15 years ...........IT DOESN'T WORK ! WE NEED MEDICAL SERVICE REGULATION !!!
That's my message to Congressman McClintock ......please see that he hears this . Sincerely, John A - South Lake Tahoe , Ca
