In Alaska...I've also seen a moose kill a man...watched it on the nightly news up there...a bull moose chased a man on the local campus and kicked the man in the head and killed him instantly...they can be quite vicious when they feel threatened. Kids are taught in school that if a moose starts to approach them to duck onto the ground, out the moose's sight and cover their head. Beautiful animals but people should just let them alone.
No doubt they can kill a guy, I've been really lucky so far with up close moose encounters. Use to run a dog team and had a cow moose for some reason run into the team and tangled with the tow line. What a mess!! Had hurt dogs and supplies strung all over before it was done. Went to town another time and had my team chained out on a drop line. Cow moose got after my dogs for no reason. I was drunk and took a guy's split'n maul after the moose. She kept chase'n my drunk butt up on the hood of a Chevy pickup. Me be'n drunk my time'n was off, if I'd have been sober she would have had a split'n maul stuck in her head. Her and I both lucked out!! What a nite and what a drunk'n dummy too!! Geez!!
