AsleepInNJ: here's the problem. the balloon takes off. one of the kids says oh my brother took off with the balloon and the idiotic parents assume he's right and call for help. in the mean time the kid is hiding in a box in the garage. how dumb.

Why didn't they look for him before calling the authorities?? Why didn't someone think of that first?? That's what i don't understand. If they knew it couldn't lift that much weight.

because they are either idiots or it was for publicity.

Exactly - the kid was probably some typical obese American kid already weighing in at 195 lbs and in training to be a sumo wrestler!

Sundown40: I do have to admit...someone should've been watching the boy and not leaving it up to the sibling. But it's starting to sound like the balloon was never made to lift a human...why didn't they think of that before hand??
